Red Lights

Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red, but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light."
After a few more minutes, they came to another intersection and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous.
At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!"
Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh my! Am I driving?"

I heard a similar one many years ago in the US.

An Australian arrived from Europe to visit Washington.

Arrived at Dulles, and caught a cab.

As they arrived in Washington, the cabbie proceeded to drive through the forst intersection even though the light was red.

After a long flight, the Aussie was not paying much attention and thought he must have been mistaken.

However, the same occurred at the next intersection. The cabbie did not even slow down, just stright through.

Our Aussie tourist was now wide awake, and watching the red light at the next intersection approaching, with no indication that the cabbie was going to stop.

However, just before they got to the intersection, the light turned green. Suddenly the cabbie cursed and jumped on the anchors and stopped just before the cross road, looked both ways and proceeded carefully.

This was too much for the passenger. "You just ran two red lights, and then stopped at the green. Why did you do that?"

"My brother's also a cab driver," retorted the cabbie.
