we used to have a Tandy 1000TX... it could run at 2 speeds, 4 or 8 MHz.. and it had the 3.5" Double Density drive, I think they held 56kb or something

Yes Dad brought one home late 1980's. Cost him 500 bucks or something. It was probably the biggest mistake ever! After I figured out how to copy all my mates games, you could never get me off the thing! Ahhh I love Mr. Robot and Giana Sisters. Check out http://www.c64.org and http://www.c64.com go download some games and an emulator!
I remember paying $220 for a 4 MB chip and $260 for a no name 486 motherboard in 1995. I couldn't afford the new Pentium stuff.
I'm not as old as you guys but i do remember my dad buying a computer for $3000 with 200MHz CPU and 64 MB RAM. it even had a turbo button on the front so you could run the thing at 150MHz for some reason if you turned it off. This was in like 96'. I can remember my grandmas computer as well but. green writing in dos and i used to play Zac McKrakken or something. i never finished that game...
Achin' for a v8 wagon people click me!
speaking of old computer systems anyone use a atari? that was the best game station, loved the game called tanks

hmmm 16mhz... sounds tempting but i think ill stay wit my 2800mhz *rolls eyes* hahaha
That is quite modern. My first computer was an Apple (something) clone with 64k memory and 2 x 5.25 single sided fdd's (128kb per disc). Next was an IBM compatible (clone). 8mhz system clock, 2 x 360kb (double sided) fdd's and a *huge* 10mb hdd. State of the art! They were plenty dear but I don't remember them being $9k though.
