The following post is completely unnecessary but I feel the need to say it anyway:

I find this very inappropriate and offensive. I for one am sick to death of cop bashing. Everyone crys foul when they get a speeding ticket. A speed limit is one of the easiest laws to break. And it can have potentially devestaing effects. More people die or are maimed and more damages are caused by criminal driving then by any other criminal activity. Why on earth shouldn't one of the biggest dangers and threats to the largest majority of people be addressed?

IMO all laws and criminal activities are looked after on that same sort of basis. People just notice speed cameras more cos hey, there are more cars on the road speeding then there are robberies occuring at any given point dont you think?

I know i'm going to get flamed for this, but i'm with you. I'm sorry, but if there's one thing that drives me up the wall, its when people complain about "revenue raising". Because, honestly, the way i see it, if you don't speed, and respect the law, honestly...what have you got to worry about?

I agree, we shouldnt give the cops flack but its just a bit of harmless fun, Im sure if there are any cops on here they would see the humor behind it.
A speeding driver is just easy to catch cos they get cought in the act or have thier rego number taken in a photo. Murdera's dont run around with a number plate around thier neck running in front of cameras with the murder weapon =)

if speeding kills so many people and speed cameras arent revenue raising then why hasnt the road toll gone down by a significant amount since the introduction of speed cameras. Either nobody gives a toss and everyone is still speeding anyway (not likely) or speeding isnt responsible for anywhere near as many fatalities or carry anywhere near as high a risk as govt funded (and biased) research indicates. Or maybe too many idiots think that because they are driving below the speed limit they dont have to pay attention to the road as they are driving "safely" according to state govts who only emphasize speeding in road safety messages so everyone buys the line that speeding is responsible for the majority of road crashes (which its not).

thats all well and good. but look at it this way. the man hours required to enforce speed limits on a given stretch of road are tiny compared to the potential numbers caught.

thats why you notice speed traps more, cos they are so bloody efficent.

anything else requires significantly more manhours and more money. there is more money spent else where. but cos of efficeny you wont see teh same results AND of course they are going to play up the one thing they can police without wasting huge amounts of resources. that bit is just politics. if you saw stats on money and manhours for anything else and you were biased or ill informed well you might jsut think what you already seem to: that the police arent doing there jobs.
