It would really depend on whether you wanted to turn left or right, wouldn't it ^^

Well it's really the home builder's fault You can see it's the sort of suburb where all the gutters are uniformly rounded - there's no specific entrance for a driveway on each block like older suburbs... so really, they should've worked plans out with the council, and then built the house back-to-front with the garage on the left ^^

dont think its photoshoped. the shadow of the pole is in the same direction as the house. plus have you thought that it might be a street light? my grandparents house in the suburbs had underground power but had a concrete streelight on their nature strip!

if it was a power line you would probably see the shadows of the electric cables on the ground, but you only see the pole, so good chance its just a light pole

hmmm just noticed something. look closely at the top corners of the pic.. powerlines!

*green box must be for something else.
*still doubt its photoshoped, who would go through so much effort and detail just for that!

The House is in Rockhampton Queensland, the house was built in a new estate, one of the first places built when the roads were finished, AFTER the place was finished the council came through and set up the poles, smack in the middle of the drive. Both parties blamed the other and the split driveway was the final outcome, it is still like that today. Drive past it all the time

i work for a lines company - the green box thingy is a pillar which holds the fuses for each house - these are used with under ground and newer over head set ups (fuses not up the pole), there will be a riser cable from the overhead lines down to under that box if this photo is legit - also the pole looks to big just to be a street light,

im sure ive seen this pic around our office somewhere before too lol

it's confusing to me, have overhead power lines but have the power going to the house underground... not a very well thought out development if you ask me.

But hey, I believe it. Stupider things have happened.
I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on tape somewhere

Yep, it's real...look at the way the driveway flares out either side of it, and the small triangle of grass at the base of the pole.

If that's in Rocky, am I right in guessing it's in the new estate that's being chucked up behind the University, Frenchville I think? Looks like the style of houses and guttering they are building there.
