This I have done in the past with old vehicles when the original part is not available. Apart from the alternator the coil polarity needs to be reversed so that the spark jumps from a hot part to the cold part of the sparkplug. In modern cars depending on how the voltage stabilizers and instruments work you may need to purchase alternative parts here as well. Oh and dont forget the radio. If you really need to do this for some reason OK otherwise it is a bit of a pointless exercise.
