Which V8 do you prefer

Its all about sound for me. Nothing beats the sound of a 5L easily spinning the rears at 4000rpm

I know you said overall, and technically overall would include power, but i don't 'want' power, i want to go round in circles

5.0 litre for the sound!

I'm not 100% on this, but I think you can get a 304 to sound tougher than a 308. So I voted EFI. 5.0.

At the end of the day though, I like any v8. I work at maccas and served a guy thru drive thru the other day in a black VZ SS ute, he had a loud exhast, sounded awesome. He was giving it revs and kinda ripping it up all the way through drive through.

I agree on that, unsure why but the injected motors just have a nicer sound compared to the carby 308s at least for me

hell no carby sound heaps nicer with a megga lump and reving to 7 grand i voted carby but i do like f/i 5ltr

being lucky enough to own a FI 5L and a LS3, you can't go past the FI 5L GroupA for sound.

But the LS3 for easy unopened power and torque.

i picked fuel injected 5litre because of its noise and it can fit into almost anything plus fuel injection is heaps nicer than carbies. Need an option of the 5.7 stroker which basically is the bigger version of the 5l

Meh, that's what stereos are for, if you don't like the sound that is
I've had both, the 304 for sound, but the ls1 chews it up for power so in the end i'd go for a......slant 6

My neighbour has a worked 5L, which I think has a twin 3inch exhaust. There is nothing better then waking up to the roar of his v8 each morning, ****ing love it.

L98 good cheap reliable HP... there are heaps of near stock versions of this engine on race track all over the country that are fast.
