Default Which V8 do you prefer

Came up with the idea after seeing a thread in the tuning section about ls1 vs 5l.

So overall which motor do you like the best.

TVR-190: That LSD service paid off. Stato just got very sideways.
Grennan: In a stato, the term is held starboard.

If there were no such thing as laws, Turbo 304 by miles. There's 1000 things better about the LS motors, but they fail on cool and they fail on being an American motor and Amercians have just been ramming me all morning on GT5 in overpowered cars they can't control so that's very important too

gotta agree here. i dont care about whats fastest down the strip. as long as it sounds good, has a bit of power, and is just a nice looking engine. 5 litre has all those 3, while the LS1 has just 1.

You cant bet the sound of a F/I 5L they sound awsome with a decent exhaust system but mods wise a LS1 can get a heap of power with only afew mods

i picked fuel injected 5litre because of its noise and it can fit into almost anything plus fuel injection is heaps nicer than carbies. Need an option of the 5.7 stroker which basically is the bigger version of the 5l

Now c'mon, the LS1 still sounds a hell of a lot better than any Ford V8

Doesn't seem like you guys have heared a Ford V8, all of them are clearly excellent sounding, almost as good as a 304

i voted ls1 as i have one but your right, you can't beat the sound of a efi 304, even standard they've got that beefy v8 grumble, throw an exhaust on and they sound awesome with a better looking engine, cleaner with the covers on, but the ls1 more power with little mods, sound a bit quiet but a cam and exhaust and they sound like a real v8 with plenty of power, do love the efi304 but ls1 for me.

When 5 litre tunes run out I'm buying a old crusty WH to experiment on, pull all the fat out of it, do some racing and do 100 dollar ecu changovers:P. But wont be for a while yet and you can get them for like 7-8 grand allready

Injected 5L just because it sounds like a real v8 should, even if it isn't as powerful as an ls engine

Sorry, still not convinced. I've heard plenty in the flesh, and find the Holden's have a nice warm meaty sound, whereas Ford's tend to sound like a bag of angry squirrels

best sounding V8 is an old school bigblock with a blower!, to me my Ls1 isnt what a V8 should sound like, too refined just something missing, ford V8's sounds a lot better unfortunately. i wish i could get my LS1 to sound like a injected 5lt, without spendin thousands to do it.

BTW, didnt vote coz i like all of them, all have pros, all have cons.

for noise and sound old 5litre , but in that right there is it all OLD
give me new anyday better by far pitty bout the sound but then again ive had noisey cars and to have real power and be silent is harder than having power and being noisey .
i went to my vx from a noisey jappa to get away from having a noisey cop bait of a car.
so i happily drive around with my standard car with just one muffler removed to give it that slight rumble.
