love the vs hsv kit ON A hsv, and the 5.7 stroker is the ducks nuts of the time.
but that wing, and the interior detract.

i pretty much only wanted one because of how few there are, they aren't bad looking apart from that massive wing.

Anyone who knows their GTS/R history would know that they were painted that AFTER the taxi's were yellow. Thats how they came about, left over shells painted, sold to HSV for a limited edition model

Sorry STEALTHY - that is an urban myth. From John Harvey (one of the big wigs of HSV at the time....) first hand - that color came about as the result of a customer clinic at the time. They ran all sorts of colors including several shades of yellow. All the colors were bright "look at me" shades as that was the aim for the car. That color was overwhelmingly the most popular.

I asked the "taxi" question to him point blank a few weeks ago and the above was his reply. The taxi story is just one of those things that somebody came up with and gathered steam over the years. (I thought it was true as well).

Love it, I remember the first time I saw one in the flesh driving down my street, I asked myself "What the **** is that?!" They look radical and sure a bit ridiculous, but in 15-20 years time they will be the pinnacle of aussie muscle car from the 90s, and worth a squillion dollars. Im currently in the process of making a replica out of an old trashed vr clubsport. Have some original bits too =)
