You won't be able to get a VY, VZ or VE stato or calais with a manual transmission unless someone has converted it from auto, so your best bet is to get an SS. Depending on your budget would be the best way to choose the model. The VY has the 5.7litre GenIII engine and the series 2 VZ's and all VE SS's have the 6.0litre engine.

Pffttt Autos are way better lol

Depending on your budget I would get

    1- VE Calais V

    2 - VY SS

    3 - VZ Calais

but as mentioned above.. you wont be able to find a Calais with a manual unless the previous owner has converted it... and pretty certain you wont find a VE calais with a manual just yet

VE simply because of safty (not sure if it's really a big issue for you) also they are a good looking car, if price isnt an issue, go for ve calais V, got a few extras in there.

I ummed and ahhed between a VY & a VZ and man am I glad now I went the VZ (didnt know much about the difference between the 2 models back then).

I have also since found out the VE's arent all they are cracked up to be. They have some disadvantages over the VZ (more weight, parts are more expensive, etc). Ive also spoken to the owner of a performance centre who used to own a VZ and who now owns a VE, and in his opinion he said the VZ is in many ways a better car (one being they are more comfortable).

I rekn I'll be keeping my VZ for some time yet.
