Default Old car or new car?

I've been thinking about this, if money was no option, would you go out and buy a brand new car or an older "classic" car?

I mean, a lot of people say if they won tattslotto or the like that they would go and buy themselves a brand new car. For me, if money was no option, i'd go an buy myself an older car, like an A9X Torana, HK-T-G Monaro, HQ SS or GTS or even just an older car like a HQ that i could go nuts on. I couldn't see myself going out and buying a brand new Holden, Statesman,HSV (or insert new car of choice here) because it's not where my passion lies.

    Your thoughts?

if money was no option then i'd be cruising around bugatti veyron, a koenigsegg ccxr and i'd probably import a Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst Edition

Both. A 70's muscle car would be hell to drive to work every day

Like most of the rest I chose both. If you do a few km the new cars win hands down, especially in traffic. For something for Saturday to enjoy then the oldies win hands down.

I really don't believe in the whole "you need a late model car to drive everyday" thing, i reckons it's a load of crap, i could drive an old car all the time. I have hardly driven my VN (hardly a late model car, but you get my point) since i got my ute on the road, it's so much better to drive. Granted my ute has an EFI motor in it, but thats about it as far as mod cons go....If i had an A9X Torana, i obviously wouldn't drive it all the time because of how rare they are, but i certainly could, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Each to their own i guess...

old for sure. No annoying safety features no annoying beeping sounds, cooler, more dangerous yehhhhhhhhhhh. Id love a vk brocky. Or rather dump 40k into a vl turbo then spend 40k on a new commodore.

Thats an interesting point you raise there VL 5 SPEED, it all depends on what you class as an "older" car aswell i guess. To me (nobody take offence to this please) it's anything pre Commodore.

I think the major difference is neither of you drive in heavy traffic for sustained periods of time. Have to admit it's one huge attraction to rural living

So Reaper, what mod cons would make heavy traffic driving that much better? Bearing in mind, before i moved to the Island i used to sit on the Monash everyday in a WB Holden ute with no A/C, no Power steer, no Cruise, no leccy windows nothing...Hell, for quiet some time it didn't even have a radio

Thats jsut my opinion. I wouldnt like to go back to a big thirsty car for my daily personally. I enjoy my comforts :P

I'd get me one of them fancy BMW luxury cars for daily, A new VE Maloo for another daily and a WB tonner for weekend/fun times.
