Abbott, not because I think he would be a good PM. Just anything is an improvement on Kevin07.

I've seen Tony Abbott make some very impressive speaches on TV while he was the health minister? but he's lost the plot at the moment so I would choose neither. Still if the parties were close Ruddly would never be able to beat him during an election because Abbott is a much more intelligent guy so chances are he will be prime minister

How has he lost the plot exactly?

I am waiting for his revised book of climate fixing before I decide how much of the plot he's lost. But I guess it didn't matter since China chucked a Minux like wobbly in the end

Oh your talking about the fraudenhagen summit? Funny it failed...the religion called "global warming" is finally dying as people realise they have no control over what this planet does. You want losing the plot? How about these idiotic world leaders agreeing on reducing temperature rises by 2c? I was unaware our governments could control this.

Funnily enough, global temperatures havent risen in what, almost a decade? Climate science would have to be the shadiest load of crap going around the planet, it is like the crusades with the catholics.

Thank christ we have sane people like Abbott blocking ****ing ridiculous taxes that do nothing for the environment. Abbott like most of us sane humans agree that clean energy is a much better alternative, however, thats where it stops, man needs to realise that he cannot control everything.

I do await your response with anticipation about how Australia ONCE had this and another country ONCE had that, it certainly did, but it certainly wasnt man that changed it all those millenia ago. Would love to hear your reasons behind mars warming up, must be all those pesky humans!!!

I give it 2 years before governments change tact and go to a global cooling scare...because lets face it, colder temperatures are much more deadly and scary than a few hot months.

Anyway, back to playing games for me while i spill co2 out of my mouth and out my amazing 35kw 3 phase ducted cooling setup

foam, whats there to argue about? Sea levels are not rising, temperatures are not rising, whats the problem? Urban warming is very much happening but just pick out some temp sites that arent based near a city. Unless the data Im getting from the bom is wrong?

Maybe I need to be like Jones, Briffa etc(funnily enough who work for Oil companies rofl) and leave out data that suits my beliefs more?

No choice at all. I'm not a huge Abbott fan however it is very clear that he has the interests of Australia as top priority. This is opposed to the ALP which seems intent in ****ing over Australia to look good overseas with NO NET REDUCTION TO CARBON EMISSIONS on any macro scale.

Of course I could go on for hours over their failures re the GEC, Health and other issues.

I'd be interested to see what achievement they have that would be considered anything more than a mediocre success?

The Education Revolution - every kid gets a computer (but no software or tech support)?
Health care reform - Where now you are on a waiting list to get onto the waiting list?
Economic policy - Where we went from an awesome surplus to the biggest debt the country has ever seen in less than 2 years?
Alcohol policy - Put taxes up to reduce consumption however treasury estimates show a 4x increase of extra tax take over the next 4 years???
Environment Policy - Extra Tax = less Carbon emissions?

Looks like a winner on all counts to me!

Well, to get technical I wouldn't vote for Abbott. For one reason and one reason only.

He isn't the Liberal nominee for my electorate.

If he was, he would certainly get my vote. As it is, whomever stands in this seat to rep the Libs will get my vote and I will hope that a lot more Australians feel the same way in their electorates.

I hate Rudd's smarmy "look at me, aren't I clever" attitude and his unbridled ego. His achievements wouldn't fill a Vegemite jar at present and I doubt that much will change over the next 12 months.

As for preferred PM, Abbott for sure. He has the experience, the knowledge and the strength of character to do the job. He has his quirks, which rear up to bite him at times, but they only demonstrate his more "knock-about bloke" type of character rather than Mr Mandarin, who has so obviously lived and worked within a diplomatic/public service arena for so long.

Abbott in a heart beat. Hell at this stage Id vote for a Rhino walking around at the Werribee open range Zoo over Kruddy.

I love the term "atleast hes trying". **** me, would you guys vote for a preschooler? I'm sure the 5 year old would "try" as well. We need a party who succeeds, not spouts rubbish, and gets absolutely nothing done - apart from crippling the country.

I see 17 votes for Krudd but so far no actual reasons for those votes of than one 'He's doing a good job'.

Going to need some 'for instances' I think...

I would like to vote labour, but i cant see how carbon taxes will help the situation at all. Global warming is scientific FACT. like gravity. thers way to much evidence out there to support it. Its a serious issue that Kevin is doing what he can to adress even if its the wrong course of action. there was a slight chance i would have voted liberal if malcom turnbull was leader, he was a good public speaker and strong opposition leader, would have given kevin a real run for his money. Labour won the next election the day they voted tony abbot as leader of the liberal party, he is a very inarticulate, wing nut, who is likely to be just standing in till a better option comes along. Get ready for another 3 years of Kevin 11.

I have to agree with the others, Mike. What has been so "great" about Rudd's efforts so far?

Kyoto and Sorry were symbolic - the world didn't change and life didn't improve for anybody as a consequence of either action. He promised to do them during his election campaign but they were easy to knock over in a few months and didn't cost anything.

His education program was commendable, but half-baked.

Insulation program - good idea but very poorly executed, with every cowboy jumping onto the gravy train and shonks crawling out of the woodwork every week.

Solar rebates - a good idea, and probably should continue at a greater rate, but it's already seen cutbacks and will eventually be cut off.

ETS - nah, let's not go down that one - there's another thread for that.

Border security - oh yeah, he's doing a fantastic job with that one. Christmas Island is now so overcrowded, 30 kids have been forwarded to a holding facility in Melbourne.

Sorry, Mike - we have differing views on what constitues a "great job".

    Inarticulate? Hardly.

and satirising a person's physical features doesn't add strength to your argument.

and I suspect that Turnbull and Rudd would have eventually hopped into their ETS bed together. That does NOT make a great leader for the Opposition. People want an Opposition to stand up as a counterbalance to the Government, not to basically agree with them.

Interesting though, that the count is now 18 to 17 in favour of Rudd. How come all the ALP supporters keep mum so much on this forum?

Really? Why is it they stopped using global warming and switched to climate change then? Why is it all the data hacked from CRU says it was altered to suit? Why is it Phil Jones and the CRU withheld information under a FOI? Why was info deleted? Why, why, why...
