depends on what sort of racing
drags = shift kitted auto/manualised auto
circuit= manual gearbox
so cant actually vote for any of them
If its got Wheels or Boobs its gonna cost ya money
Regardless of number of gears or kind of racing MANUAL. A slushy might be slightly quicker in a drag car but seeing superstocks etc with manuals picking up the front wheels on each gearchange rocks.
I raced speedway last season with auto and this season i have converted to manual and even though once in race gear it stays there with the manual i have much better control and less parasitic power loss

WANTED SV3800 headers for 34G, need stockers as made by HM headers ~ used with patina prefferable for scrutineering
I never race and do heaps of city driving.. rather an auto. I picked shift kit auto because why not?
The only thing about my VT I don't like is that the auto has trouble picking the right gear, i would prefer a semi auto like the falcon has for a daily.

changed to just drive now not race

Around town: Std Auto
Weekend car: 4/5/6sp manual
Drags: Kitted/stalled auto (assuming I'd ever bother)
Circuit racer: 5/6sp manual.

Not fussed either way. I like the 6 speed manual, very nice to drive but i still would've bought the car if it was an auto.
oh cool i like all the votes keep em coming people

silly silly poll. dunno why i voted. of course 5 speed, but if your talkin straight line 1/4 mile then shift kitted auto.
but you didnt specify, so 5 speed it is.
ok its drag race drag racing
6 speed manual is wear its at!!! haha love mine!![]()
Been driving manuals ever since I got my licence so I'd have to say that a standard auto would be great to drive everyday and a manual would be my choice for the weekend car.
hey, you forgot the ol' 3 speed crunch boxes... i love those. 3 on the tree baby!!!
(i woulda voted for that)
didnt even think of the ol' 3 on tree but ya dont really see them any more any way LOL
