A guy at work is in love with his integra and thinks it sounds like magic. I could'nt see what was so great about the lawn mower on steroids noise.

some i do, depends what they do to them .cant say its worth doing up an integra,lancer or a hyundi there just puss, but most of the the nissans go like fu*k. some of the skylines and 180sx are just crazy,
see some pretty sh*t looking commodores out there to. massive aftermarket wings/spoilers that sit level with the roof, or cannons, gay bonnet scoops, 10 inch tacho's ect. it lust depends on who's doing it up i guess.
as for rotary's- there just awesome , love em. so i'll say yes

Stupid bloody things. Wish they'd ban putting friggin fat exhausts on them. I sure as hell would be embarrassed if my car sounded like that. If you want something that goes quick and sounds wicked buy an 8 and leave the 4 cyls to the P platers and the oldies!!

tastefully modified yes, but not all blinged up stupid with chrome this and fake carbon that with white everything in the interior. i like all modded cars, but only when things aren't just done for the hell of it, like scissor doors or tv screens everywhere or leather seats with some stupid words trimmed in (i'm looking at the widebody green monaro in st comms, what a piece of rice that was. just junk)

i really like dc2r's, apart from the fact they are front drivers. if they were rear, that is what i would be driving.

for the record, i define "ricer" as something that looks like an extra off a 'fast and furious' movie. you know the type, cut springs, cheap chromies, ridiculously sized wing and exhaust, poxy graphics, a dozen gauges mounted all over the place etc.

i dont mind any car, jap or otherwise, thats modded tastefully for show or go, preferably go.

Funny how ricer has changed in meaning over the years, we used to call ricers anything japanese. We call shitboxes those cars of any make with stupid kits and making stupid noises(funnily enough I see more of these based on commodores these days). I love my jap car, best car I have ever purchased.

yeah my mate has a silvia and it is quick as hell very nice car, and he has come from a commodore, i dont class it as rice at all, rice is thoes stpud lancers with chrome lights, cannon ect

i don't wanna rub people up the wrong way, but some of the v6 commodores here all kitted out at whatever are exactly like these 'ricers' people talk about. all thats done to them is a fat zorst that sounds like crap (im a v6 owner and they sound like pus) and then some silly oversized wheels and a bodykit to make it look like the performance model of the range and dump it that far that the car doesn't handle any good, but in reality its a base model with a stock auto box..

i guess as long as the owner likes it.

i once rode in an r33 gtr v-spec and that is by far is the best car i have ever been in. you cannot compare that to anything holden/hsv produced from the same era. you probably can't even compare it to anything holden/hsv produces now, i bet it still shits all over them in every aspect. the japanese do not produce shit cars, people just make them shit.

Hate "ricers" (for minux modern ricers) regardless of the make, it doesnt cost any extra to modify your ride tastefully.....

In regards to Jap cars there are some I like (soarers, aristos, skylines and evos) and some I dont (Civics, corollas etc)

I think a lot of people are failing to realise that most jap companies offer a range of cars and engine packages (4 cyl, 6 cyl and nissan and Toyota offered [past tense] V8s), basing all japanese cars off 4 cyl variants is the same as saying holden makes shit cars based on the barina......

Just a shame companies like Toyota now choose to make fridges instead of sports cars, but I guess they make cars to make money not to satisfy all niches....

Mate used to own an R32GTR R34 GTR V-Spec and now the new R35 GTR and they all own.

The 32 GTR used to run 8.9@ 170ish down the quarter, lol.

The new R35 GTR if you want to call it that is a machine and a half.

On the weekend a certian forum member with a supercharged 6 ltr commy got schooled by a 32GTR so yeah they get my thumbs up
