To buy or not to buy?? That is the question at this point in time...

Hey all

My mate has this '95 lancer 4 door sedan with and absolutely rooted engine (still drives, but knocks more than a Jehovah witness) and has rego till 22/7/2010.

He wants $200 for it...

Im not sure what to do, buy it, toss in a 1.5L or 1.8L out of another lancer and sell it/drive it for a while or leave it for him to wreck.

What do you all think i should do?

I say get it. I have been working on my brothers 96 lancer all day. And after 200,000 K's and never being cared for, this thing has kept on going and going. For $200 it is a very very cheap and economical run around. Plus a profit at the end (Y)

Precicely... Im about 99% set on getting it, i just need to find an engine...

ebay, wreckers, coles or woolworths or even the janome warehouse should sell a replacement motor for these mate :P

like it has been said buy it, replace the sewing machine under the bonnet and sell it off for extra play money for the VK :P

if he is a aquaintance, buy it, make a profit, if he is a mate, go halves in a motor, help him put it an and split the profit (minus 200 for you as thats what he wanted for the car) so you both make a bit of cash, you help your mate out and there can be no disputes.

VK is selling, this is do-able, $200 for car, $400 for engine, sell for $1K, there is $400 profit..
