I think now the price has come down, the PS3 is really the better choice, but I base that on total functionality, not just games. Word of warning though, the PS3 controllers are just rubbish compared to the 360 ones, I own a 360 myself.

Ive owned both but I think PS3 is better, you dont have to pay to play online, whatever your buying off their online shop is in real money not Microsoft points which makes you buy more than you need, I think PS3 is of better quality and I reckon the controllers are better too but not quite as good to hold. They even give you the cable to recharge the controller even though its short as.

Xbox on the other hand was heaps louder, a bit more prone to freezing up, red ringed and just felt a little more flimsy. It was also a bit more confusing to navigate around in the dashboard. But the main reason I swapped was because of their roping me out of money to play online, I'm already paying for the net why should I pay for Microsofts poor online crap.

I loathe anything microsoft related. Especially my computer. Xbox360s seem to be designed to fail, why else would they have installed a red light in the ring? They are louder, prone to freezing, overheat, ect ect ect. However i cant fault their controllers - damn ive dropped mine on the stone floor so many times and it still works. Ps3's just spell awesomeness

its got to be the xbox360. i reckon the game graphics look much nicer on xbox than they do the playstation. and i sell game consoles and tv's for a living so ive seen them both perform at the highest level.

I have a PS3 and think it's great. Blu ray and free online play are a good sell. Haven't had an xbox at all so can't comment on them.

Played on both, own a PS3. The 360 I played on (mates) RROD'ed twice in the space of 2 months so he has to run a mini fan behind it.... Gay.... mad fail for xbox.

Sony controller is crap, the menu layout on ps3 drives me nuts, online part is free with ps3 but online setup is much better with the xbox. Early Xboxs are dodgy , had red rings about 4 times. New one is great never had a problem. Its all personal preference really, i like the Xbox better just because of the way the i find it easier to use less technical. Half the features of the Ps3 i have never used. lol this sort of argument reminds of primary school, when it was the 64 v the ps1.

I agree with Parkway, the xbox controller feels like a chinese version of a PS controller, like they tried to copy it but missed it slightly. Nothing is in good vicinity with each other.

You have got to be kidding, the XBOX controller feels sturdy and sits in the hands comfy, the PS3 controller fells like it was made it a 2 dollar shop

360 won simply because of the controller. I refure to even watch DVDs on the PS since I used the xbox controller. Lack of games add's to the reason i havn't bought one (all the games i like are xbox exclusive or multi-platform)

This was the wrong poll to stick in here. You will get so many saying this or that is better than the other that it could last for years. I have had both & never will own a PS3 again. The 3 PS3's i had crapped out on me with either YLOD,laser issues or just freezing on me. I have one(well several but one i use all the time) XBOX360 that i have had since 2005,not once has it overheated,broken or crapped out on me in any way. I have even accidently left the thing on for several hours & still not one issue with it. I either have the bulletproof version or just potluck. The PS2/PS3 controller feels like a kids toy,flimsy,like you look at it the wrong way & it will break on you. The XBOX controller is more solid & durable.

i dont really understand this whole "breaking down" thing. i have both 360 and ps3, bough the ps3 when grant theft auto came out (latest one with nico, cant remember, 4 or 5) and bought xbox360 when halo came out, both have had a fair amount of use, both are locked in my display cabinet with little or no air flow, and both have performed just fine. never broken down?...

anyways, i like em both. prolly swinging more towards the PS3 though, just cos'; of GTA and gran tourismo (FINALLY) apart from halo, there is bollucks-all that is interesting on 360

Xbox 360.

The games are by far better, the exclusives that Sony has dont really sway me to much. The controller is a bucket of shit. Its basically a glorified Blu ray player and well they are about 100 bucks these days.

A lot of people spout the RROD nonsense but that hasnt been an issue since the first wave of Xbox's. They are currently as reliable as any other console out there, of course the odd one is going to break - just dont pick up a launch model because they are absolutely rubbish. People also say the the cost of Xbox live is a negative, but for 50 dollars a year you get a much better service - and I have owned and played both.
