Leave the empty bezels
Buy the foggies and put them in
SO what looks better, i have empty bezels in atm and im wondering if i should buy the actual lights and wiring
Yeah its got the wiring into the dash button. ill have a look to see if it goes to the actual foglights. Im just not to sure if will look good with them in
Of course it will look sweet with the lights in, and they will be functional too![]()
haha yeah, I just dont know if they will look as good or as 'clean' I hope i have the wiring around the bumper somewhere. Otherwise it will be a nightmare lol
chuck my set in sometime and see how they look.
im waiting on new bumper...
yeah brand new genuine bumper. vr/vs ss, so will have to fill the front lip holes, but otherwise they are the same.
and i was under the impression that the chrome strip was just glued in...
i have nfi, still new to vs's and v8'sHow much did the bar set you back?
$195. should have it tomorrow or wednesday. ill let you know what its like
Thats not to bad, yeah mine has a few stone chips and a scrape underneath. And i was told not to get them repainted as they chip much easier. That would be good if you could let us no
It all depends on the paint and painter, repainted bars are fine if done correctly.
The chrome strip is exactly that a chrome strip, u can get what ever colour strip u want and glue it in.
There is a how to thread on how to position it on the bar. Can't see why u can't us urs as a trial and go from there
Oh well a few people on this forum said it was a waiste of time, so you just reckon repaint the original? Considering it has all the chrome and bezles and that
Now for something tricky, add a rear fog.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. I suggest Hella Part Number 2901 - $70, OR http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...215554#details. Accepted under AS3790. http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...eSafePart4.pdf
I voted without. However its a hard one because fog lights are supposed to go in your kit. I would personally put blanks in there (Just a bit of plastic at the back), but thats just me... x.X
For now, u have the bar with the bezels already, u just have to add the lights, yes? For now remove the bumper, bolt up the lights, and sit ur bar back on, and see what u think. If u like em join the loom and then bolt ur bar on.
U can always get ur bar repainted down the track or source another bar.
The come out from factory with the lights in, so they won't look bad at all.
i see your asking about the chrome strip. just look on ebay and look for chrome strips.
picked up a 10m roll for like $90 and fitted perfectly to the front bar (did sides aswell)
and id say put them in although if you had pcitures without it it would be good to compare.
U have 2 options,
genuine lights. eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d
Or sca driving lights round the $30 mark.
Gen's cost a little extra but are a direct fit, plug and play. The sca lights u'll have to mod the plug for them to fit and drill a hole in the reo.
Buy the genuine lights and put them in, every time I see a statesman( I know your's is a calais) they generally don't have the foggies the caprice runs and it looks like something's missing. Till the day I saw one with supercheap one's in there. Big fail.
The supercheap ones have crossed my mind haha. But there not really the same shape. I guess ill put the foggies on the to do list then![]()
genuine is always good, but im not sure if u've read over this thread Driving with fog lights on but have a read, and i guess find out what purpose u will use the lights for..
genuine foggies are good for fog, the sca lights are driving lights.. so again i throw another thing in the mix for you to consider
I have purchased the sca lights when i eventually do the conversion because i want a more direct throw of light as aposed to light spread.
