flashing cops

Today I was driving along, and I was flashed by a couple of cars. Turns out there were a few cops waiting up the road. Now only 2 of about 20 cars that passed me flashed. So it got me thinking is this a very common thing to do? do you do it? If so why/ why not?

Sometimes.. Depends if I think of it. Sometimes I am just too happy not to have been pulled over as I find a 17 year old in a VN has a stereotypical image of being a Hoon.

LOL I will flash (my lights- had to put that in so u guys don't get the wrong idea! lol) depending on the other drivers like if someone is just cruising along and could be a couple km's over I see no harm in warning them. But is some idiot goes flying past driving like a tool then I just sit back and laugh and think suck shit.

i don't know you can say it depends on the other driver cuz you hardly even see them as they go past...i only do it the certain cars because its nice when ppl do it for you but ya just gotta watch that you don't flash an unmarked vehicle because apparently they can fine you for it. But y have quick flash lever? I've been told your suppose to flash when overtaking a car, is this true?

ive done it once or twice but havent really been put into the situation,

though once i was driving home on the freeway alone at about 1am and some wank flashes me a few times with the highbeams, i wasnt speeding driving wonky ignoring something and im sure my car was ine so i dont know if they were being tossers or i missed a message :S. only to have someone in a vz ute do the same to me at an intersection [i was goign straight, waiting at red light, he was to my right, giveway sign turning left]

i wont flash my lights to save someone else a ticket
a mate of mine flashed other cars once to warn of a radar & the police were also set up down the road waiting to catch the ones who were flashing
end result they probably got through while he got fined
he got no thanks from the ones he saved

I've been flashed many times and I've flashed many times.

I flash every time I pick up a speed camera, I've got quiet a few thumbs up as people pass me (probably because I'm still a [L]oser).

The 3 times I've been caught speeding by those damn camera's all 3 times a flasher could have saved me from a $128 fine for going 5k's over the limit.

Cops can always get you for illegal use of headlights.. I think it falls under failing to lower lights when oncoming traffic is within 200m or something like that.

Yea... a cop tried getting me for flashing my headlights at oncoming traffic this morningat Moorooka...just after I passed the speed gun...........I said that I had accidentally knocked the dipper switch....lol....got away wiff it....loool....

i will always flash unless there exessivly speeding eg 80-90 in a 60 zone or if there having a drag, they deserve to be caught and have their car impounded

being from up north in qld thats just wat you do...we used to hold signs off the balconys of pubs to warn others lol..
but on the road yep i alert any driver wether it b commo or skyline or som wanker cabbie that is only speeding becuase he has no fare...
regarding the cops pulling you over for flashing another vehicle... well i would think they can get you if use your high beams within 200m of another vehicle becuase yes that is the law... but the trick is just to flash your parkers or your normal headlights..no where does it state that you cant use your headlights or parkers within 200m of other cars,.... so yer maybe they could get u for hindering police operations or the course of justice but that would be absoulute crap and you would just go to ray martin and he would pay it and run a story for you

ill give the lights a flick most of the time. i was followed by a car one day who was a little 'flash happy', he was still flicking his lights to oncoming cars to warn of a parked cop car about 30ks earlier!
