Default engine swap (vk to ??)

    hello,
i just got my self another car only bad thing is it has no motor. so theres no for me. anyway i want to put an engine in it but don't know what sort to put in. My mate bryce who i bought the car off says i should put a vn motor in it because i will be able to drag any c**t off and i'll be able to do fishies up the street no probs .
so what i would to know is what would be the best option for me? i have around $300 to spend on the motor and bryce will help me with the motor conversion.
what motor would be the best?

$300 might get you a 253 but I don't know why you want to do it if you just want to do burnouts everywhere.
How about getting your license? When you turn 18, you would probably have changed your mind.

A 350 will cost more than 300 bucks, besides you'd need a full garage of equipment and decent knowledge about cars and mechanics to undergo a project like that.

VN/VP engines are cheap and they provide good performance for the cost. STOCK they will beat any of the carby V8's and the fuel injected ones (VN+) cost much more than $300. But if you have mods as an idea for the future, then a V8 wuld be a good idea as they have more potential

VLs aren't Skylines either, but they run Skyline engines.

Yeh you can get a decent vn/vp engine for $300 if u buy a wrecked car with good motor and sell the car. but after that, there is a few grand u will have to fork out to get it rwc and engineered, eg. exhaust, electrics, fuel lines & tank and many more things

errrrr that is a 6 cylinder...so that simply proves my point and agrees with what i wrote. Maybe you should read the post properly aye

Notice i said "VN/VP engines are cheap and they provide good performance for the cost." Which agrees with you.

I then compare them to the V8 engines saying they will beat any of the carbie V8's however the fuel injected V8's are a different story...but I then said they Fuel Injected ones which are in the VN and onwards cost much more than $300...

The only way you are going to get a decent motor and put it in yourself for 300 bucks is find a stuffed/stacked VL that has no damage to the motor or front end. Then swap everything over to the VK

yeah vn/vp motor would be alright for it, but if u were wanting an 8 get a 253, a great lil v8, and for u, someone who has to get there license would be a good starting point...

    cheers, Todd

How about a RB20e or RB30e outa a VL. I'm puttin' a RB20 into mine coz there's soooo much you can do to make it run faster/better at quite a low cost.
