    Default Steering Wheels

Hi everyone just wanting to know which type of steering wheels i should get for my 1985 VK Berlina sports steering, wood grain steering or just keep the original i am only considering keep the original because it is in good condition and i don't mind the orignal/nostalgia look when everything is in perfect condition.

Wood grain. Only if the Boss kit is painted to the same colour as the rest of the dash etc...
Black Boss kits don't do it. Well this is what I will probably be doing anyway unless I think of another thing.

I know what you mean. You have to match you wheel to the interior. Thats the only reason I went for a leather one in mine.

Yes, yes it will.. a steering wheel doesnt control how hard it is.. hows ya P/S rack? Has ya P/S pump got fluid?

Well on our old VB (no PS) I found a big difference after fitting sports wheel actually, Because of the smaller diameter, I found it mush easier to drive & was mush better on my arms/elbows, I found I couldnt drive it long distances with stock wheel as I would get pain in my elbows, RSI style.... but after sports wheel was on, that was pretty much unheard of.

I think a black wheel would look best or maybe something with a bit of silver. A woodgrain might look ok but if your hands sweat they get slippery personally i don't like them but it's your choice.

you got no hope getin an HDT momo from the wreckers, doesnt hurt to keep an eye out but i wouldnt be makin special trips there for one. Those wheels are highly sought afte by HDT purists, I reckon you'd be lookin at around $800 maybe more or less depending on condition. good luck with your search.

Sorry guys, been away and havn't been on in a while. Just want to thank you guys for your praise, it is appreciated. There has been a lot of effort, time, work and money put into the interior.

I agree that blue/green would be near impossible. My interior started life as the factory brown dash, console and carpet and the tan trim. I hated it, it was dated and ugly IMO, so I modded it to what it is now.

Tip: If you have or have access to a program like photoshop, jump on the tutorial pages for it and mod your car on the computer first.
Its much easier to stop yourself overdoing one thing and underdoing others and is much easier to change on the screen than in real life.

    Good luck

go leather dude, but make sure you get a proper leather cleaner and clean it every week. Once the leather goes black, it stains.
