LPG or not??
Well looks like the LPG rebate will be coming in, *looks for news story link for those unaware* So who would be interested in getting a gas conversion if there is a 2000 buck rebate??

Price is the only thing stopping me from getting a gas conversion, so whats the deal with NSW, do we get this rebate or what?

Hmmm, I'm not sure how my Gen III would go on gas. The way I see it (someone correct me if I'm wrong) you'd have to compromise performance to get better fuel efficiency, and I'm not prepared to do that. So I'l be staying on petrol and paying the higher fuel costs unless someone can prove otherwise.
I love my cars and don't mind paying a premium for owning a performance car...
...btw, my next car will be a VE SSV!

The Service stations will have to add more LPG gas fillers or there will be longer lines for the LPG than there already is for cheap fuel.
I use the space in my boot regulary so its not an option for me.
And isnt the Gas excise going up in the next few years???

Not me. Few reasons.
1. Price of Taxi fuel is already going up, from what it used to be its risen considerably, and I believe it will continue as soon as everyone switches, demand for petrol will slow down if everyone converts to gas, doubtful but wishful thinking on my behalf.
2. Cannot convert that easily, need to find a specialist and get all the bits needed for the power that I would eventually be chasing, possible, but I'm sure its expensive.
And well, thats it.
Reasons why I would get gas, It is currently cheaper then petrol, and it has a higher octane rating then the best fuel you can get.

It has a higher octane rating yes, but it has alot worse economy and performance than petrol. You dont get as far on gas as you do on petrol, and you dont get there as fast either
For your engine, petrol is a much better product to run on in the long term.

Yeah the gas excise is going up in 2008 I think.. or 2009. So the government will be getting alot more money from LPG in the years to follow.

I don't know, GAS-747 is putting it really good power, and he's still doing it all on pump fuel- even still at the end of it he can fill up at 70c or whatever a litre and I'm filling at 1.40+ for premium.
But its just not worth it for me, and dual fuel conversions, I wouldn't even look twice at.
