    Default drinking at home

    hey all,
a mate of mine is always bagging me and what not because i enjoy a bourbon or beer at home by myself.
i enjoy the taste and relaxing effects of a drink at night. is this so weird.
it would be good to know your opinions on the subject.

now could a poll be set up so that theres the options of drinking at home and not drinking unless socially?

    cheers, garth.

I never drink more then 2 drinks by myself.. Any drink I have is purely for enjoyment..

Drinking at home alone (other than in moderation) is often a sign of alcoholism. Getting pissed by yourself ain't cool..

but is it really getting pissed by yourself if you are chatting on msn etc? if relationships can be formed online, and bills can be paid and a multitude of other things, why wouldnt having a few drinks with online buddies be considered normal?

i think its time the guide to alcoholism was updated.

have only done it once or twice, and would be bored shitless doing it infront of the telly, but on here would be a bit of fun i think... long as there were a few on and i wasnt the only one on a bender.

A few months ago i got given a bottle of red from a mate, one afternoon i decided i would watch a series of black books to fill some time. Thought i might as well open a bottle of red and have a glass or two with my old man. Dad had half a glass and started to do some work, i ended up drinking the whole bottle, was a good drop too, without realising it until i stood up to have dinner with the family. I had never done it before, and i ahvnt done it since, i pefer a social drink. Or a drink while im workingon my car, i cant see a problem with a drink at home alone.
I used to play sports. Then I realized you can buy trophies. Now I’m good at everything.

It's different.. Being pissed doesn't just impact what you say, but how you say it, your body language and a multitude of other factors. It relaxes your inhibitions, makes you more sociable etc.

Call me old fashioned, but if people get pissed so they can have a chat to their mates on msn, I believe there's a problem..

I have come on this place pissed before. Some of my 4am posts are just after I get home from a big night, it really doesn't do it for me that much..

Also typing properly isn't as easy when you're pissed. Webcam I kinda understand, but not really..

    Just not my thing..

not SO they can talk to their mates, but WHILE or WITH. i dont see it as a need, moreso something different.

same reasong blokes have a multitude of grog around the bbq, its a social thing, with everything going online now im not shocked that having a skinfull while chatting to mates can also go online.

look at change, technology, new things - its exponential. we're right on the curve and so 'old-fashioned' isnt going to have much room very soon...

As long as your not getting drunk on your own than whats the problem. A beer, glass of wine, spirit is always nice with a meal.

I think its a little strange, I can have a few drinks here before/after a night out.

But I can't sit at home and drink til I get pissed, not only is it strange, its just god damn boring.

If its one or two thats fine, but getting drunk on your own at home is one if the biggest signs of alcoholism.

    i like that...

Its not really by yourself if others are there whether they drink or not. But if you get drunk all by yourself with no1 else home then that is alcoholism or maybe just depression

I like drinking at home, by myself. Even going to a mate's place and having a couple of Bourbons.

I have been tipsy at home. (Actually was watching Final Destination 2, while drinking a glass of about 70% Whiskey and 30% Coke)
