Default Should HSV Make 1 Last Brock Commodore?

Personally I could think of no better way to show tribute to Brocky than to release one last line of Brock Commodores (with perhaps $1,000 per car going to one of his charities).

So, do you think HSV should make a batch of HSV Brock Commodores? (Yes I know it was HDT not HSV that made the originals, but still!)

Or perhaps make the next 7.0L HSV 'GTSR' or whatever they were going to call it, a Brock HSV instead!

HSV and Holden owe alot to Brocky, as does the entire world of motorsport! In my opinion there is no better way to show the respect and love that we all had for Brocky 05, the Legend and King of the Hill!

Yeah they should. Holden wouldn't be half of what it is for today if it wasn't for Peter Brock.

(IMO, they should re-release the A9X as the tribute vehicle.......hehehe!)

HSV have nothing to do with Peter Brock and Holden didn't beleive in him either which caused HDT to go broke, so better to just to have the old HDT cars and leave it at that

Your knowledge of that history is somwhat flawed however now is not the time for such a debate. What is beyond dispute is his contribution to motor racing in Australia and the Holden brand over many years. To many HSV is a modern evolution of what Brock pioneered 25 years ago and IMHO a car named in his honor would be fitting.

hell no, profitting from a dead mans name, thats just wrong, only way it could be condoned would be if all profits went to brockys charity!

Julie makes a very good point, i to would only like to see one come out if all profits went into some sort of charity brock was into.
still i would love to see holden/hsv bring out a tribute car for brock.

It wouldnt be to profit from his name... But a show of respect. It should be the same price as a normal model, with $1000 or so per car going to one of Brockies funds/charities...

brocky will live on forever with all he has done and achieved.no one will ever equal his accomplishments.the best tribute of all is to appreciate all his work in racing and charity...if we are all as loyal as we say maybe we should ALL donate any spare cash to his charity..a fitting way for us all to say goodbye? brocky is and will always be remeebered as number 1

i think it should only have the brock name if brock had helped design it. im sure theyll find another way to honour his memory

Uhhh I think we are getting carried away here guys. At best you could look forward to some sort of special edition HSV or a SS "Brock series" or similar with minor mechanical upgrades and a special body kit. I can't see a 30 year old car being re-released.

I would see the whole project as a way to honor the man - Profit would have nothing to do with it. $1k per car to the brock foundation would be a nice touch though.

??? Huh? It is not about buying anything. It's about finding apropriate ways of honoring his legend. Sell 100 cars and the Brock foundation has $100k it otherwise wouldn't have had. What is wrong with that?

Good time to bring out that concept tt3.6 TORANA and you can have a modern XU1,or drop the 6litre in there and you have a modern A9X.
Holden or hsv should make another BROCK car wether it be commodore or torana something, loved seeing him drive both as a kid.

Did Brock have a hand in former Brock Commodores? If that's the case I dont' see the point, as unfortunately he is not around anymore to have an input.

No way. I remember a story which i don't know is true, but Peter Brock took a few through HSV factory, seen a clubsport that was going to have Peter Brocks signature, something that he didn't know of.
Also there has been some bad blood between HSV and Brock over the years
But if Holden have some sort of Brock Commodore, be it the Omega, Berlina Calais or SS then yes.

Julie your not really into any sort of tributes about renaming or making stuff in brocks name are you...Ive looked at three threads now and your not for a single one???

Im all for the idea. I reckon it would be great. especially the donating to hes foundation bit...

hehe...could you imagine how many A9X's or XU1's would sell if they actually were re-released...? I know it will never happen but damn.
