Exclamation Reflective Tint or Black Tint?

I booked my car in for monday to have some tint done but I cant decide what to get..

Reflective/Mirror style tint or Black Tint?

Normally I'd get black tint on a white car, but thought the mirror tint would suit the chrome window surrounds, wheels and SS flutes...But its also illegal.

Disregarding legality... What would you choose?

I have only ever had the darkness of the tint tested, not its reflectivity... So I dont think the odds of being defected for it are overly high.

go black,i got mine done about a month ago 2 shades over legal on the back and 1 over on the sides looks sweet.
remember not 2 put ya windows down for 48 hours, and also watch out where they stick the "dont wind your windows down for 48 hours sticker" coz they put mine over my power window buttons but it also hung over on2 the dash face and when i peeled it off it took sum paint with it.

Discarding legality, reflective for sure!! Just bear in mind that black would look pretty damn good too and it'd be a safer bet - no chance of having to get the tint re-done legally later on.

hmmm Does anyone know how they test the reflectivity?

I've had them use this laser thing, where one peice goes either side of the window to test darkness by seeing how much light goes through the window... But never had them tested for reflectivity before? I think it might only be tested at Regency Park or other Vehicle Inspection Centres which makes it fairly safe on the road?

    Looks good mate

I seriously don't reckon you'll have any problems with legality. I can't even tell it's reflective! Looks like a normal (nice) tint job to me...

lol I've only done one side and its gone dull already... I needa polish it again then throw a clear coat over the top.

Im too lazy to start the drivers side window trim... Sanding by hand takes too much, I need a buffer attachment for my drill

Haven't you already been defected for illegal tint? Then you replace with more illegal tint. As far as I'm concerned, you're asking for trouble. Window trim looks good though.

Yeah I got defected for 20 grade tint... But regarding darkness im alright this time its just the reflectivity which isn't overlyy noticable.. If I get done i'll just change the windows over with a set from U-Pull-It. The device they use to detect light transparency doesnt detect how reflective the tint is so I should be right.

i cant stand reflective tint especially when your driving towards some body that has it on a sunny day and it reflects in your eyes

I just got back from overseas (Thailand) and the bloke who was driving us around this one day had really reflective tint all round INCLUDING THE FRONT WINDSCREEN!!

It was a late model Lancer and looked pretty good. Everything looked sorta hazy looking out through the front windscreen though.

...Spose it does get really hot over there...

lol.. I was going to say black tint because mirror tint is so 1983 (and not a good 1983 like some people who like reviving the 80's seem to think)
