Hey as most of you our government wants to introduce recycled water into our water lines to combat the water restrictions.
Would you drink it?
at first i thought no.. coz just the thought of drinking what was once digested in some other guys guts was enough to put me off drinking water for the rest of my life! but after hearing that all major cities around the world use recycled water (eg london, detroit, etc) i figured it cant be too bad. i think id be ok if i didnt know bout it. apparently u cant tell the diff
Recycled water is used mainly in industry as cooling or cleaning, not used in households. Sometimes it is mixed with fresh water but at a very small ratio to minimise possible health risks. This frees up the good stuff for domestic use. I wouldn't drink it.
as i said in another thread its suppose to be cleaner and filtered more than regular tap water...
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
If beaties drinkin it and hes still alive then whats the harm. If there was a health risk them would put it thru thats for sure and like i said int he other thread show me one person who can spot the difference. Its a mind over matter thing thats all. Eww i dont wanna drink someone elses piss or ****. Not like its going to have a floater fall out your tap LMAO if it did tho
.:Blown VT V6, DAJ37:.
as much as i think its a good idea, i just would be able to bring my self to it. mount frankin for me thanks lol. i reckon i would get half a glass down, think of where it came from and spit it out lol.
Hey There Guys,
I would never drink it, i have heard that it was from recycled bodly fluids, if that is the case hell no i aint drinking it all.

Haha, it makes me laugh when people say no considering we drink water from dams that have all sorts of crap in them including dead and decaying animals!
Recycled water is used in kidney dialysis so it's pretty pure isn't it?
I would drink it no problem, considering that it's not going to be 100% recycled anyway that your drinking.
yeh who knows what else has been in our dams![]()
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Yeah but only because I saw on that TV show how its made (or some other show on lifestyle channel) they showed the process, it's actually absurdly filtered and cleaned, not much of a water fan myself but I wouldn't have a problem with it
I think it could be a major boost to supplies without even drinking it. If we all used it for things such as toilet, laundry, garden etc etc, it would be a massive relief to our current water supply. But hey the government could actually build the water catchment that needs to be built and we wouldn't have an issue.
You can't build 620,000 new homes and businesses and not expect water supplies to suffer.
technically we already drink recycled water in one way or another...
i will be buying shares in mt franklin thats for sure! and i dont care if theres beens dead and crappin animals in the dam the thought of going to the toilet then havein a look in the bowl and knowing that i will be drinkin that in a few more hours stuuuufff that! and the worst part is that its not only your crap but its everyone elses what about the other stuff that ends up in the toilet e.g tampons condoms slag that black stuff that some mutha has just harked up first thing in the morning then spat down the bowl it makes me sick ! its amazeing we have ipods mp3s dvd all this technology and no damn water go figure!
Yes bring it on!!
Forgive me lord for i have sinned, I hit 4th gear jump5th gear pinned:b:
no, thats all i have to say and im stickin to it!![]()
as i said in another thread.
no way.
"I think I smell something funky coming from the water!"
it's just the whole thought, of drinking someone elses by-products which have moved through their bodily processes... yuh.
Although I believe they can treat water that has had peoples crap, pubes, blood and whatever else disgusting in it to be a clean and healthy enough substance to drink from, I will not want to go near it. Yuk
I believe there has got to be a lot more sensible options if thought through properly than that crazy idea. Just my opinion!
Maybe they should use all that treated water to give to the irrigators and any commercial use such as firefighting instead of dumping it in the sea.
lol @ crap, pubes, blood etc.
indeed, i am sure there will be things that are overlooked through the recycling. as my dad said the other day.. "stuff that, it'll rain eventually"!
sydney water will probbably charge us more for recycling it too.
i drank atleast 5 litres today... good old fresh, un-processed, ready for my-use-only water from the dam which had animals dead in it
what about people who chuck animal excrements down the dunny too?... lol
you really should see where some of the water comes from in Europe, rivers that are more polluted then anything you see this side of world, rivers that come from eastern europe and you know what those eastern block countries are like, they don't give a rats*ss. that water i beleive is probably better quality then the stuff coming from the local dam after it's processed. outa sight, outa mind really. how are you going to know where the water that's running outa your tap is really coming from. funny though isn't it when the goverments ok's the building of thousands of houses and yet they don't really improve the infrastructure to cope with all those new houses/people. we have the same problems here with water for electricity generation/ drinking water a few years ago. there solution for auckland was to use water from the waikato river/ filter it and put it straight into the regualr supply. i've not noticed the difference yet

Ill drink it, what are our options, death?
I do think it'd be a lot better if it was made so that we could use recycled water in our garden/ washing machine/ showers/ dishwashers etc, but that cost would be something insane. Instead, just flush it through with the old stuff, most of the water I drink is bottled, but even still, if it was coming through the tap and it was cold - I don't care where it came from. As long as it tastes normal.
Was talking to someone from work about this a few months ago, and he said well when we're going for a drive, I'll show you something, about 200km up the road we reached a fairly large dam, for a nearby township, all their waste used to get pumped into it. The water was then released into the river system. 100-200km's down the path was our water treatment facility, we pulled it out, then flushed it back into our taps. So I really wouldn't be surprised if that was a common practice for a lot of towns around Aus.
Over here in WA they were toying with the idea of piping water from the north. Billions of litres go into the sea every year during the wet season and it can't be harnessed. The cost is too high to be feasible they say. What about the long term costs to the population? Who cares how much it costs today, bite the bullet, spend the money, go into debt for 50 years if you have to but the gain to the people and the environment would far outweigh any financial cost today. The present government just doesn't want to give the opposition ammunition during an election. 'Oh look how much debt we are in because of this current administration'. This is something that has no political boundaries no matter which state we are in. There are probably similar solutions and hurdles in Queensland. The wet season in the north would probably sustain the whole state but it needs to be captured and piped to the population. Recycling is an option for sure, but it also involves building plants and the use of fossil fuels to run them. With piping the water, hydro-electric stations can be built along the pipeline using the flow of the water itself to maintain pumps to keep it flowing. I'm not a greeny, but I can see when money needs to be thrown at a concept regardless of present day cost. Money can be paid back and recouped....the effects of long term drought are devastating.
I would have to test it b4 i would say yes, but then again most of the town water ive drank has been shocking, brissy and the gold coast water is horrible. Tank water any day for me, such a better taste.
