Default Police! Rate the performance of your locals!

as the poll suggests rate the effectivness of your local police and if possible why and what they could do to better themselves.

I rate mine as not too bad as if you have a non emergerncy call out they will often not show up at all.

EDIT: if the cops that are on here would kindly do so, rate your station and also say would u guys could do better.

wow I really think this poll is needlessly critical... other than police themselves who might vote, I think nobody else has the right to judge!

I haven't had any dealings with our local police, but recently had a car stolen and we had to deal with a lovely constable from a different station, I have no complaints as yet. I also don't see the point in this thread, and the minute it turns into a cop bashing thread it will be deleted

Every situation is different. I fail to see how we can judge the effectiveness based on individual opinions and experiences. As per above. I agree, this thread may not see the light of day for very long.

i have not had much to do with the police here in geelong but on the few occasions that i have had to call them they have been here within 10 minutes witch is not bad concidering the station is about a 7 minute drive. i think this thread isnt going to prove anything as there will be members that have a grudge against the local police i look at it this way they are there to protect us and make there town or suburb a better safer place to live and if you break the law you are asking to be caught just my 2 cents

I havent had any problems at all... When i first got my car and when one of my friends first got his car and we were checking them out, a marked car pulled up, asked us if the cars were ours etc, was very nice about it all.

I've never been pulled over in my local area, but where I have been the officers have always been very nice, willing to have a bit of a laugh.

Once there was ... an 'issue' with my uncle and the next door neighbour (I thought it was very funny, but she called the police lol) Anyway, they came around pretty quick and sorted it all out very well.. They were calm n nice and all that...

I also did my work experience at the st kilda police station and all the police officers / detectives / admin we're great people... very nice, welcoming.. the lot (except for one officer who didnt even acknowledge my existance )

My vote was for the first option

    But wait... There's more!!

    But that's not all!!!

I voted retarded monkeys. The police where I live are completely useless and don't even do their job. They are a complete joke here. All the bogans from all the nearby suburbs come here because they know they can get away with nearly anything. And they do. In front of the cops, too.
I have no respect for the local cops anymore. If they pulled me over I'd spit on them in disgust.

yeah the police in this area arnt to bad depends on who you get! i mean when i used to live in kingston and my unit got broken into i called the police and it took them 2 days to come out and even when they did come out nothing was done no finger prints taken ect.. but.. i have also been let off the hook hear and there when driveing by police (possibly due to the fact they could see i was a family bloke )so yeah i cant complain! also i think people should take into account that police do have a pretty hard job! i mean they no everyone dislikes them but they are the first people to be called when crud hits the fan! the only police i dislike is the ones who go around on power trips they get under my skin! but i spose being in their line of work i cant blame a few from throwing their weight around from time to time just my thoughts!

It's not a bad place really, all the locals are pretty good, and keep the out of town idiots in check, the cops are just crap.
The other day the cop on duty went home and spent her shift there. Rather than being at the station or patrolling. Its just a lot of bull**** like that really. And letting people drink-drive, get drunk in public, and cruise around with a dozen wasted people in the back of a ute. I'm just waiting for someone to get run over.
Their response times to emergencies are **** too. 20 mins to get to a car theft in progress that happened a 45 sec drive from the station is **** (they were at the station too, saw the cop car parked outside)

i'm not cop bashing, but i can see where you're coming from. the person that answers the phone at the cop shop is usually very descerning and prioritises very quickly. i think this results in a non life threatening complaint being put at the bottom of the list....

Retarded is how it is spelt.

Our police here do an excellent job. Hoons are kept under wraps, alot of pullovers on modified vehicles(even my own at least once a week). A zero tolerance nightlife campaign is keeping the city feeling safer. Honestly, no one could expect a better job from these guys especially with the low numbers.

i have mixed feelings about the cops. had sum rims stolen by my ex and her new b/f. the cops wanted the b/f locked up so they had arrested them within a week. i was like **** thats fast. i was told i would have to go into court when the case was raised to claim back the cost of the rims . case has been still no word. also got the b/f on trying to pervert the course of justice with the flak i got when i caught him back at mine trying to knick another thing out the back. still no reply. i dont mind the court system but, ive had most things go my way :P

cops in south auckland NZ leave a lot to be desired. the only way to guarantee they will show is to say that someone has firearm/weapon. standard burglary responce time is 24-48hrs. they are understaffed and have to do there job with one hand tied behind there backs. it's more a beaurcrazy (crazy) problem. to much political BS etc. there also very bussy making our roads safer (revenue gathering).
