who's your insurance company and how do you find them in regards to making a claim?
im with Just Cars, had an accident on the weekend (come off dirt road onto bitumen while pissing down rain, window was constently fogging up, come up over a crest and didn't realise at the top of the crest it turns to the left quite sharply lost the ass end and took out a guide post and ended up in a ditch) got onto Just Cars and the service i got was amazing!, car was towed back from the sunny coast to just round the corner from my work and should be ready early next week.
how bout every one else?

I use a broker, so i picked none![]()
In order for this poll to accurately reflect members insurance companies you need to list every single one or have an option for other. I picked none because I use QBE.
Added QBE and can add more as they come to light, this is the first poll I'm actually interested in.
At least I know which forum members not to drive near
C'mon Craig, which company did your 'broker' find you then?![]()
Added CGU. Have had 2 claims in 4 months. The process is pretty good and their prices are one of the cheapest around. The pity is all the crash repairers I have ever been to don't recommend them as they seem to be tight asses on the payment/claim end.
im with shannons the premium is not the bad and only $500 excess im happy and to get $18000 agreed value with buy back option on the vs im happy
I don't know which one I am with, car is under a novated lease and the leasing company assigned me an insurer. Should add 'Other' to the poll
Im with Just Cars for the VC
and CGU for the Corolla
We got rep back, yaaay!
MODS, can one of you please add "other - please specify" to the list.
cheers

2nd time when it got written off wasnt so great. they took $1800 off what they paid us because of a couple scratches that could have been fixed for not even $100.
so if you need your car fixed AAMI are good, if you write it off there cheap ass's (well with my experiences with them)
btw i might be changing to just cars when i save up enough so i can start doing mods
p plater+aami = only 1 mod![]()
just cars, only ones to cover mods. so its not a choice as such... just the only avaliable option
Im with RACQ (Yes i now live in Victoria, gotta change. Got another 8 months with RACQ then ill change to RACV)
Ive been with them for almost 2 years now, havent made a claim at all, however im not looking forward to making one cause the excess is a motherload, i think its 900 dollars from memory.
RAC, its WA's version of RACQ ETC ETC
been driving since 2003 did skip over to sgio for a few months but yeah reasonable premiums and multi driver cover kinda made me stick with them, never had to make a claim so couldent tell you how good they are there
What about GIO?
I'm with RACQ and they're pretty good. Back in 05 I got my car stolen but I got it back minus the stereo. Even though the stereo wasn't covered (it was was stolen three days after i got it installed) I still made the claim and got the money back for it minus the excess obviously.
I told them I didn't have time to ring up and say that I had just got a new stereo put in and I wanted it covered, because I was studying hard out for YR 12 and wasn't focused on anything else (which is kinda true). The thing is that if I did ring up and asked for it to be covered they wouldn't of because its valued at over half of the value of my car.

nrma for me. but i think they only cover me in the vn cause with my last car i was with them for two years. it costs an absolut fortune but there was no trouble with the payout when my last car was stolen
I didn't do it

Im with realcarinsurance they are cheap and seem nice on the phone
I'll stick with NRMA everything I own is insured with them ( house & cars )
I'm with ING Insurance, which is actually run by CGU. The same way that Just car is owned by AAMI. ING would have to be the cheapest I've ever come across. Had one at fault claim where I damaged the passenger sill panel and they let me go with the most expensive quote I got. Two months later and a big rear ender with about $10,000 worth of damage and they gave me the choice of payout or write off. I went with repair. By the way, to all owners, I suggest every 12 months you redo your quotes for all insurance. As an existing customer my insurance premium raised by nearly $400. They said thats as cheap as I'll get. I called and acted like a new customer and they gave me the same policy for $400 less. When I complained they couldn't explain it to me. They blamed it on two different computer systems. All insurers do this.
I had bad luck with NRMA. In 2002 my first VS was stolen from my house and found the next day in the next suburb with the stereo ripped out and half the dash missing. NRMA tried to tell me that I did it myself! It took 7 weeks for them to sit on it and they even had an independant investigator come and visit me on a Sunday afternoon and conduct a tape recorded interview. Even the investigator appologised and said it was a bull**** case. 9 weeks later I finally get my car back repaired. The car was insured for nearly $5000 more than what it was worth. If I did it myself I wouldn't have let it be found!
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
