    Default Which calais should I get

    Dont worry people figured it out, Well anyway im fixing my car back up now so that its worth something when i sell it. Now im deciding on a VP calais or a Vs calais, i was set of a Vp calais dead straight (love em), then i started thinking of a Vs then wasnt to sure. Want to know what other people think, and could they also post up, the betters and worsers of each model eg. Vp - faster, Vs - slower, Vp cheaper, Vs - more options...stuff like that.

    I like VN/VP's The styling just appeals to me a lot more. So thats my vote . That being said, VS's have the ecotec + are a lot newer.

    Depends what you'd do with the difference in money between them

    Go the VP man if you can find a nice one in good condition.

    VP Calais = Cheap. Vp wrecks = even cheaper. Therefore it will be cheaper to buy VP and then just buy a coupla write offs for parts

    My heart says VP but voted VS as they are a lot more refined in the rear end and are a bit newer. The wreckes are starting to fill up with VS's now and the VP's are being sent off to the crushers. (all used up for spares) Thats my 2 bobs worth for ya.

    Hmm id prob go the VP calais v8, i want one but i dno if i could afford petrol, ive read that some people say they are better on petty then my v6, then i get my parents say no no too much petrol in them. The only thing i like about the Vs over the VP woulda be altezza lights. and the more newer part to it.

    Take it from someone who has a VP Calais- get a VS Calais, even a Berlina, hell, even a VR, the later interiors are nicer too. VP rear ends are fecked, rims are a more straightforward fit on the VS aswell

    Interior:
    The VS will outstrip the VN/P in every aspect, including wear/tear.

    Exterior:
    VN Calais' are fairly dull. VP Calais' can look gangsta, while a VS Calais tend to look like a load of wank imho.

    Power:
    Ecotech is more powerful, but the VS is heavier. But let's face it, you're getting a Calais, so you're looking at a heavy car to begin with. If you're that worried about power/weight, you want to buy a VP Exec and bolt on a calais kit. Which you'll pay out the ass for. Then you get into options, as mentioned, like S/C V6, V8... and then when you hit the V8, stupid prices for some replacement parts. However an 8 is really easy to mod for power, and won't drink as much gas as some people will tell you. Tough choice... the s/c 6 has a flat power curve, and with a smaller pulley will be putting stock 8s to shame. However if going really really fast isn't the be all and end all, then a mint V6 VP Calais will have you rolling around as happy as a pig in s**t.

    Parts:
    The VS is slowly phasing out VN/Ps at wreckers, as I think has already been mentioned. Prices won't vary much.

    Servicability:
    They vary very little. If you're familiar with the VP engine, a VS won't be a big step up... a V8 may have some learning curves, though.

    Colour:
    Don't get another blue/green/swamp water commodore, or I'll slap you.

    Conclusion:
    If it were me, I'd buy a VP Calais V8. The brutal looks of a VP, with an engine that'll have you launching from every set of lights like s*** off a shiny shovel. I couldn't and wouldn't ever drive a VR/S simply because I'm morally opposed to the styling. If I'm going to drive that chassis, I may aswell drive it with a VP shell.

    Lmao *bows down b4 you* lol, more replies like tis would be appreciated. Basically i want the look/features of the Calais, but with room for engine work later on. So not fussed on the weight really.

    VP for sure, they look sweet, are light and faster, and i don't think a VS has anything the VP doesn't, name a few options and i'll see if mine has it or not

    well... your asking the wrong questions...

    Think permanent chasis issues..... (lets break it pheuesdo style)

    Question 1: Do you like the VP rear End (Sqaure lights and wheel arches)

    IF (yes)
    {
    Buy VP calais
    }
    ELSE
    {
    Get VS calais
    }
    END IF

    You can add VS dashs, seats and door trims later. **** IRS its crap, ABS is **** too.... VP calais came with that **** anyway.

    Ecotecs arent the be all and end all so meh... either get the V8 or the l67. Dont get another v6... UNLESS! your gonna stroke bore then blow it....

    i have to agree with stocky, black vs calais look awsome, however, you can repaint anything!

    Whihc brings me back to my orignial point.

    Which BODY do you want.

    aZk.
    Wanted to buy:

    1. T5 V8 Bellhousing and Clutch fork assembly suit VP
    2. V8 Tail Shaft, T5, Suit IRS VP
    3. T5 VB Gear Box

    PM Me if you got what i need...

    Whats your budget? You didnt mention, unless I missed it...

    If its ONLY out of those two, i'd go for the VS.

    I like the ext. and int. a hell of a lot more on the newer models. VS calais' are still looking very nice on the road. I like the VP's as well, but I like the VS more.

    As I said, whats your budget dude?

    But wait... There's more!!

    But that's not all!!!
