Write/Right/Ride Off... which one?

It's a write off because when an insurance company insures something, they underwrite it, which is agreeing to pay a sum in the event of loss or damage for a fee. When the goods insured are lost or damaged to the insured or replacement value it is deemed written off.

I don't know if it's ignorance or typo's but a lot of people say the incorrect term for most things car related. (What the hell is a walsh plug?) Some things are hard to determine how they are said or spelled but at least do some research on what it is before posting so we have some idea of what people have a problem with. Nothing ****s me more than trying to decypher a post.

Write off, as in you have written off your car.

Similar to how you have written off a bad debt.

yep, write off, sometimes i hear people say 'wipe off' as well but i reckon write off for all above mentioned reasons

Definatly Write Off. Ive heard ride off a few times on this forum, just sounds silly.

And in reference to walsh plug in Not_An_Abba_Fan's post. The first time i heard it was when i picked up my gregories the other day and saw it.
