Ford v Holden, does it really matter?
As you all may know, i am now a Ford owner.
I realise this is a Holden forum ( the name says it all ) and some S.A. members have said " Why did you buy a ford, fords are **** ".
But when you break down the fact that the were both made ( falcons v commodores ) for the same market, have similar power ( V6 v Straight 6, similar price and similar reliabilty, they are not so different.
So the question is this, would you buy a ford if it was a better deal than the best Holden you saw? or would that fact that its a ford stop you?

I'm also an alcoholic...i mean from SA, and doesn't matter for me either.
My cars have a theme. If i could make such a car using a ford brand then i would. Lately i've had an itch to get an AWD car, so was looking the way of Imports.

I dont care either. I mean, I prefer Holden. But I also like value for money. And if Ford was better value for money at the time, sure I'd get one.
I'll also add, I'd only get BA and up

I would have bought a Ford in a flash IF there was a Ford you could buy that gives similar performace to a 5 litre VN/P for the same kind of buy price and modification price. But no such car exsists. No one over on the Ford forums is anywhere near the go fast per dollar value you can get from a 5 litre VN/P. But if I was in the market for non V8 car newer than a VS Commodore then chances are I would buy a Ford, since I believe that the 6's the VT-VZs are not as good as the AU to BF's

Once upon a time it meant something big red or blue of your in the **** house.. Today we need a rivalry between holden and ford still for one reason, We the drivers will win, Holden makes 6lt car ford responds, Ford makes 6 speed auto holden responds we all win, I get sick and tired of the bickering i sometimes get in it because i cant believe the crap people will say like they are a ****en know it all like they own your car and every model for every series that ****s me still because they have no intentions of buying your car or driving your car or make ever.
But now i cant be bothered with the holden v ford thing, I prefer to drive and own a holden, I drive ford's and plenty of them, I have hired a couple of fords i don't see any problem with that at all, But i like Holden commodores and that is what i will buy. But i draw the line at bagging another car to make mine seem better or cover my flaws by crapping on someone else's wheels, There are many that like to do this to try and make something better then it is. It's happen to me and it does still get me going nothing worse then some tool telling you all about your car from a chair because the next door naubours aunties brothers sister in-laws dentist's lawn mowers brothers kids son of 10 herd something funny from the internet from the oppositions most biased fan, So you know it's legit .

i see the secret message in this poll
why jd sold his MINT VC SLE to buy a pos FORD
your vc had charactor and was rare and unique..the ford is well just a boring ford
no way i would have sold a VC SLE v8 for a FORD pos
