Mixed results...
Had a problem with a blocked injector a while ago. They said i needed a new fuel tank, pump, lines, fuel rail, injectors, pressure regulator and would cost around $1700 to fix. I ended up replacing the tank, pump and injectors for $120 and an afternoon. They would have used new parts, but even still.
Had to purchase a clutch spring a while back, cost me $5. Wasnt too bad, if it had have been for a merc would have cost at least $30.
Apart from the expense, the service is ok.

i had a problem where my high beams wouldn't work, they took a look at it, and quoted $$$$$$, said it needed a new level3 switch block (the right hand side set)
i took it home, got that part from a wreckers, still no high beams, so i put the old one back in. a bit more looking turned up the culprit, turned out to be the fuse under the bonnet had dirt/gunge on the contacts, a bit of white spirit and let there be light!

I don't have problems with them, because i get my part numbers FIRST, then i go in, tell them the part number and to go fetch. It's when you start giving them part descriptions instead of numbers, things get a little complicated and hard for them.
Ferntree Gully Holden spare parts division are pretty on the ball though. Never had a problem with them. And the chicks at the reception desk are cute.

Only used one dealer, and that being the Sale City Holden (obviously in Sale).
Spare Parts, excellent, they also do rare spares, they have on a few occasions told me not to bother with their or rare spares, as i can a better quality and cheaper one around the corner. They are not their to make a quick buck but to actually help you out. The guy their has spent hours chasing up parts for my VK for me, and then charges me less when i go to pick it up. Spare parts, EXCELLENT.
Service department, mum got her major service done their, and they done everythign they said, me and my brother inlaw (mechanic) went and checked, and yep good service, not to badly priced. Though they reset the air bag sensor as it had its VT anthem happening, a day later it was back and they told us stiff **** its not their problem. Cost 250 bux to get done, it hasnt been back their, mum chose to a local mechanic instead who was cheaper, turns out he hasnt replaced the oil filter in 30,000 k's even though charging her 3 times for one. Im now doing the services and anything that breaks i can fix.

ha cobez, i wonder who you are referring too? Holdens are great cars if you know how to look after them yourself. If not then you are going to get stung big time. The oil line in my engine got blocked and the bearings on the crankshaft chewed up the inside of my engine whilst on a trip to see my folks. Luckily(?) I was only 30 minutes away from a holden dealership and managed to limp her in. 2 days labour by one bloke (an apprentice) to fix it cost $1,280. You don't want to know how much the whole rebuild cost. Then he said i needed to bring it back in a week so they could check the engine, or the warranty would be void. I lived 400km away . Was not going to happen.
Cheers,

Complete ****.
Took my car to a Holden/HSV dealer in Wollongong with a power steering issue, and came out still with the power steering issue and bonus electrical problems. I wasn't getting anywhere with arguing, as they simply said the electrical issues were already there when I brought the car in. As I cannot prove that I had no electrical issues prior to them getting their hands on it, I dropped the subject. I told the manager to stick the power steering and electrical repair quote up his ass and walked out.

Spot on. Ive only ever had good experiences with FTG Holden.
And yes the receptionists are very easy on the eye.
