Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho

You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.
is a 5w30 too thin for an ecotec with 120 000kms?
Mainlube 175 Full Synthetic Race Oil.
Better than royal purple... but at ~$42 per Litre... its fairly expensive.
I use castrol but i would use royal purple if i could afford it
have always used mobil 1. never let me down. thats in my serious cars.
used fish n chip oil to keep my shitbox running years ago.
You can go up a notch to 15w40, or a 10w50. In those ranges dry Repco Diesel oil, Caltex Delo 400 from Big w, or for 10w50 theres Valvoline Synpower 10w50, and i think Valvoline Durablend also have one. Shell Helix 15w50 high mileage is excellent.
Try to use the thinnest you can not going below 5w40 for any car in Australia. If it feels thin, noisy etc go up a notch. I currently have Castrol Edge 10w60 i tried for the summer in my engine. Previous to this had Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 and at 230,000k's i swear the Shell did not feel thin, even through the warm weather. It was not noisy, it did not burn, signs my engine loved it. Everyones can be different. The modern quality 5w40's perform like a thicker oil at higher temps in the high load areas, bearings, pistons, cam etc, while still giving start up and economy benefits. Again, my economy is consistent no matter what oil i use. I have 4 bottles of Delo 400 Multigrade that i will use throughout the year and stick to as my consistent oil. I am coming to an end of trying my different oils. Castrol Edge is excellent, but Shell Helix Ultra, Valvoline Synpower/Durablend, Havoline Delo 400, Fuchs Titan GT and Mobil Delvac MX are my favourite brands that i have used.
ULX - 110 is good.
Suprised there is no AMSOIL in the poll, that stuff is just as good if not better than any other oil, expensive tho.
vxcalais_01: hows gulf western these days?
