better daily. both are auto (sadly), both are on chasers, both are 3.5 k, both are with in 1 hour from my house, both have full respray, neither have service history,b both are white, vs has 2500+k k's vl has unknown, both are owned by platesm, both have been around the country side. which one would you go?

depends which one is in better condition overall and mechanically. RB30 in the VL is a nicer motor, and very reliable if they're looked after, but VS would be a nicer newer car if its in good condition. check for oil leaks, rear main seal etc.

If they are both in the same condition then one must be over priced going by vintage.
If they have both been resprayed then I would be looking at the condition of the interior, under the bonnet, in the boot area and even under the car to gauge their worthiness.

VS is the go. VL's are getting a bit long in the tooth - and a VS resale wise woould kill the VL if you had to sell it.

Mate if the VL is straight, no rust, clean interior I would be snapping that up. But you've already said that the guy who owns it is dodgy so its most likely a shit box.

if it's just for a daily i'd go the vs, spesh if it has a rego/rwc. gotta ask why it has a respray tho, they're not that old and it might be masking a stack it's been in so make sure it's straight and that the steering's not out.

gday mate, if they guy isnt giving you straight answers, and makes up excuses he normally has something to hide :S, and just wants to get rid of the car, however i could be wrong so don't take my word for it

the auto should drop down a gear if it sounds like it is laboring up a hill or something, so that sounds like a problem.

Kickdown switch or could just do with a good service on the transmission.

But if the guy was being shifty then I'd think it's something more serious.

IMO $3.5 is exxy for a VL these days - unless in excellent condition, and $3.5k is too cheap for a VS.

I'm biased, cause I do love a good VL, but I'd go the VL. I'd be too worried about why the VS is so cheap and what could be wrong with it.

yeah i owned a 04 lancer vrx and i had an absolute ball in it, the 05 models have the mivec engine which is more powerfull or you can save up and get a new rallyspec one or what ever they are called.
