I'd probably say with a v8 a supercharger FTW... hp to spare to get it turning and getting constant boost from low in the rpm...

Unless you get tricky with a turbo, such as having a smaller turbo for down low and a bigger for up high... you're going to get some lag....

On that note... I did turbo... just because I think they sounds much better and I think in the end are able to make more power?

Thats my opinion anyway... v8 roar with the suction whistle... and then when you ease off the throttle... BOV and v8 burble.... *bars up*

    Really like turbos.
70% mechanical efficiency vs. 30% There's a good start. And power(and fuel slurping) when you want it, not all the time. And they sound really good on larger engines.

Supercharger. Power where you can actually use it more! And where it's better. Drags and things were you need power from a stop the supercharger is better.

A turbo is only really good at high RPMs [or higher speeds] so they generally only come into real use when your going faster than the speed limit anyway!

^^^ You have never been in an xr6 turbo before have you? It all depends on the car/ engine and turbo combo it has

turbo less drag on the engine and easier to crank the boost up higher plus can have full boost lower in the rev range and can choose when to boost and how much just with accelerator pedal control

Turbos in the end a better more efficient invention, but a roots or whipple screw supercharger has advatages over the turbo for some kinds of competition. Centrifugal blowers combine the worst of both really, I'm not even sure why they exsist, I guess being easy to install is something

Indeed they should stone the guy (death by CR500 on a gravel road) that decided motorcros bikes should be 4 strokes, I see that 2 strokes are now once again legal in the 250cc class. Injected 2 strokes FTW! can't wait for the revolution

I drive a turbo 50% of the time, and i have driven a supercharged car a couple times

I love both, theyre both awesome, and I'd take either of them over my stock 6 any day

both have thier pros and cons i suppose... the turbo sounds and feels AWESOME - when it kicks in after a couple seconds, whereas the supercharger is instant

In my opinion its a close one, but my vote went for the supercharger... just

There's a turbo kit for the 5 litre on the market but the yella terra M112 is cheap and good and excellent go fast for the money. If I had money and lived in QLD I'd have one

I looked into shipping a m112 over from the states a while ago. Theyre so cheap there.

I go charger, just because if you wanted to make it through a yellow light you'd put your foot down, the light would go red from the lack of instant power and then the sudden surge from the turbo would make the car powerslide into a pole and kill you.

That's a blatent lie, they're both good... is it possible to combine both?
