And Tethering is no good if you're on Optus as they want to charge you additional data costs for it.

Just run the APN fix for tethering and should work fine with optus to avoid the 9.95 fee. Plenty of threads on whirlpool about it. If someone needs a link, hit me up.
We're with optus at work and being a business plan/cap they have waived the tethering charge anyway. The argument being you pay for the data already, why should you have to pay a fee to use it in another way?

Yeah good point, I haven't needed tethering yet so I'm all good on that front.

VTEAZN: Yeah Jailbreaking is the way to go, but I really didn't like some of the offerings that were there. Cut and Paste on the JB'd version was rough, of course if apple implement it, it's going to be nicer and better implemented.

But I think I miss winterboard and SBSettings the most.

As for the maps, I think I read that Navman is going to release an app soon.
And I think the same goes for flash, it's been with the developers for a while so I think they're just waiting for it to come out, many thought it was going to be with the new firmware but I guess they're saving it.

I'm not sure if I want flash either to be honest, I may disable it, I think it will just slow down browsing.

AroundMe: Search for Pubs/Chemist/Movie stores etc nearest to your location - very hand in new locations.
Metro - will have a different name, but Train times for whatever city you're in.
Moveistar - IMDb search on your phone.

HoldEm

There's a lot of others, but they're what I use most.

Yes the Cut and Paste addon you got through Jailbreaking was rough, quite rough however there were a couple of releases from different people and the one I use works quite fine (never had a problem with it). And you say "if apple implement it" it will be better? Well, check out Firmware 3.0 mate they have already released Cut and Paste for the iPhone along with various other 'new' tools. The reason I brought it up though was that Apple are not comming out with anything original, all of the idea's which they are using have already been thought up and guess what, taken a step further and programmed (in most cases, more than once!).

Jailbreak! Jailbreak! Jailbreak! If you don't, I wouldn't suggest getting an iPhone- ever! There are quiet a few cool programs out there, I use Nova off the AppStore quiet a bit to listen to Nova via the web and I use a program called Bluff My Call off Cydia which allows you to spoof your phone number to anything you want. Also use a couple of programs off Cydia which give me access to 100's of movies and TV shows (every episode of Family Guy, South Park, Simpsons, American Dad, The Office, etc).

i went 16 cause im not napster... 32gb is overrated for me.

16 will be fine but if your like napster and have a shit tonne of music go 32.

there is only 1 difference in them the flash memory is the difference 16gb or 32gb.

I've cancelled my insurance. Optus decided it'd be a great idea to bump the price from 9 dollars a month to 14 'for smart phone insurance' kidding me aren't they.

I've had phones that were more expensive then my iPhone and I never had to pay this luxury insurance cost for them. Bullsh*t optus.

another way they can charge you more. if you read through it, i'd say it covers accidental dropping and water damage.... not sure.
