    Default Forza Motorsport 3

I liked the 2nd one so hoping this will be even better

With all the tuning capabilities and the new modes like drag racing and drifting... tbh i reckon nfs shift will have to really impress me to get me to not enjoy this when it comes out

this next part is from T10's latest podcast.

1.) You can export video and it will put up a 720p wmv file on forzamotorsport.net

2.) Auto-braking follows the braking line for its braking. You just steer and gas now. They said multiple times that auto-braking is NOT as fast as someone who brakes on their own. It just makes you more consistent.

3.) You get infinite rewinds per race. using time rewind will mark your lap time as "uncertified" along with anytime there is drafting in the same race.

4.) Lap times listed on the leader boards will be listed as "certified" first and then "uncertified. So the worst certified time will be above the fastest uncertified race.

5.) There is now a clutch button, and it is on the left shoulder button on the controller. Hold button, clutch is engaged. Then you shift, then let off of the clutch. There is a missed shift if you don't hit it right. You can damage the car if you miss a shift with sim damage on. The clutch pedal mode is faster than without.

6.) There is now a.) automatic b.) manual and c.) manual + clutch.

7.) In multiplayer there is no rewind, however there is auto-braking. It can be turned off like any other assist.

8.) Auto-upgrade system. "generally useful script" that adds parts to a car based on top of the class. So pick A class, say auto-upgrade, and it will upgrade the car to the PI at the top of that class. If you can't afford all the upgrades for the top of A, it will get you as close as it can then stop.

9.) Auto-upgrade does NOT auto-tune the car. You must tune the car yourself still.

10.) Multiplayer is now like Halo3 and Call of Duty 4 party type of system now is how multiplayer works in FM3. Meaning there will be prebuilt game types that you can join publicly with your party, or you can just build your own private server with exactly your specifications. Things like vote to kick someone, vote to skip a track on these public servers.

11.) Examples of how public servers will be are class and type. ie C class drag, B class drift, A class road racing etc.

12.) They monitor our private matches and if a lot of people are playing a certain setup, they can make a new server based on those settings for the public server list.

13.) All multiplayer modes give you credits. There is no more career or exhibition race. If you race on forza3 in multiplayer (even like cat and mouse) you get credits.

14.) New modes not just racing. Tag mode where you tag someone they are it. There is smear the *** where someone is it, and they have to be tagged for points. There is also army/virus/zombie tag. There is now elimination mode. Finally there is now cat and mouse mode. It really sounds like they just swiped the halo setup and made it for cars.

15.) Scoring on time or drift or damage or whatever.

16.) Starting grid based on PI, gamer-score, car type etc.

17.) Delay start, let players have a 5 second lag between starts for instance.

18.) All cars in FM3 get a Performance Index (PI System). The race-cars classes are now part of the other cars classes. For example you can upgrade your car up to the R classes and through them as well. Some R class cars now have upgrades that can be done to them as well.

19.) Pi is now calculated on the ability of the car and not the ability of the AI to drive it. In FM2, to calculate PI they had the AI calculated what time it could get with each car. This had 1 flaw that the AI can not drive cars. Usually lots of power and poor tires tripped up the AI. Now in FM3, the capability of the car is represented. They hope (fingers crossed) this is more accurate of the cars potential.

"A virtual track that the system looks at. Literally looks at the cars maximum speed through each turn would be and tries to achieve that speed on every straightaway. The cars accelerate, brake, and corners with maximum perfect friction. The only way a player would be able to achieve that same performance would be to drive the car perfectly."

20.) Power-train swaps now split into engine and drivetrain swaps.

21.) Can flip cars on multiplayer. Just jostle the left stick back and forth and you can rock the car back onto its wheels.

22.) This was mentioned but is NOT confirmed yet. Every weekday (5 days a week) from now until launch 1 new car will be revealed with pictures and a little write up.

here is a list of all fm3 videos.

I played the Forza demo a bit tonight, looks good, runs.... OK, 60 frames maybe but 60 frames Direct X style, it's not all that great. erm Theres alot of things to like about it but it drives like....... it's pretty shit. We were pretty dissapointed in it, driving a Porsche which by all rights should be an oversteeting bastard to drive. But nope you are doing well to even get it to break loose in Forza, understeers like a freak and theres a disturbingly unrealistic lack of body roll and general fell in the car. Switching between Shift and Forza, Oddly the "Arcade" Shift is much much more realistic than Forza. We will still buy Forza but I don't think the final build of GT5 will be under any threat if this is how Forza will be when released

The official car list is out and there are no Aus ford roadcars (or Aus holdens for that matter) but there is pontiac G8, pontiac gto, and vauxhaul monaro. The v8 supercars there will be 4 fords and 4 holdens. Some of the vids i seen look great and some look pretty average although it would be hard to judge from a vid on the net. will just have to wait for the final product.

If you have a PC, get a copy of GTR 2 and do a google search for a 3rd party track, goes pretty well.

I played the full version of Forza 3 for a few hours tonight, pretty impressive, even more impressive that the xbox didn't blow up since it's about the first time it's been used and was bought almost on release day yeaaaaaaaaars ago.

It's better than Shift, GT5 is going to have to be complete and fully functional to top it. I played a class E car and tried to get the world record lap time on the Iberian track, tried for a couple hours :S first couple laps I was in 1800th place but by thenend I had made it to 55th place, so there's some pretty stiff competition, I'll try again for the record tho still got some work to do in the setup that might make up the 1.0 seconds that I'm down. I did however have by far the fastest time in the car I was using, everyone else was using different cars, I had the Celica

I was a little sceptical when the demo came out, it just didn't feel all that great - perhaps too arcade-like and not sim-like?

Having got the full version of Friday though, and having played a bit over the weekend - I'm a very happy camper.

It's an evolution over Forza 2, not a revolution. The physics seem just a little bit more refined, the graphics just a little bit nicer. The gameplay off-track has been worked to make it a little more immersive and more of a career experience than a disconnected series of races like F2 was. By far for me one of the biggest improvements is the number of tracks, there are some great ones in there.

The cars also drive better stock I find - in F1, and to some extent F2, you pretty much always had to modify the car somewhat to make it competitive, otherwise you felt like you were driving a marshmallow, especially the lower class cars. In F3 the stock specs are generally respectable (as they ought be), and mods let you refine the car to suit your driving style.

yeah been playing it over weekend aswell in fact ive played it a fair bit im level 26 i think. its defenitely better than shift overall though shift does some things better for example the feeling of speed and i think the AI is better.
Drag strip back is awesome my datto 1500 does a 9.009 1/4 and 350kph powerskids does the full mile in about 21 secs. Working on my setup and hopefully go for the current world record of 8.6

Things that peev me are the intro of evry race you cant skip. and the rewind feature it just plain wrong
Going to try for the 100,000 drift acheivo later my skyline got a decent setup now should be good to go
