getting a new laptop on thursday (HP touchsmart tx2z)
and i'll need to transfer a fair bit of music/files/photos onto the new computer, is there a easier and quicker way than putting it all onto a USB and copying and pasting?
isnt there an rgb cord that conects 2 laptops so you can transfer stuff from one to the other? im pretty sure thats how you do it, you will be there for hours transfering it by usb![]()
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Wish I had of known of this cord, took me 6 hours to transfer files onto my laptop.
Do they both have wireless? just network each device and copy the files from one to the other

"No, I'm not a pessimist. At some point the world shits on everybody. Pretending it ain't shit makes you an idiot, not an optimist."
cheers, i didnt think of using wireless, and yes they both have it.
thanks for ya help guys.
also anyone used a HP touchsmart tx2z laptop before? curious to know other peoples opinions on them
Your best option is by getting an ethernet crossover cable and setting up a small ethernet network between the two machines - just about any laptop these days (apart from the MacBook Air, and maybe some netbooks) will have ethernet, and its a lot easier to set up, faster (depending on what type of ethernet controller both machines have, ethernet will run at either 100 or 1000 Mbps, rather than 802.11g's 54Mbps) and more reliable than wireless.
Yeah do it over ethernet, It will be much quicker than using wireless.
Also you should invest in an external HHD. Can grab a great WD 1TB for $170 these days.
