When i try to burn cd/dvd's with nero 6 it tells me to get my administrator to configure it to allow me to write cd/dvd's
I have administrator right!!!
I have tried it by logging on to the real admin account (Through safe mode)
i have configured it to allow everybody to burn
i have tried uninstalling, running nero 6 cleaner and then reinstalling,
i have no other burning or iso software that could interfere
I have tried other burning software but my cd/dvd writer dosent show up, just image recorder,
strangely though if i install nero, then launch it straight away my dvd writer appears, however when i go to burn the disk it says "diskj failed" immediatly, and then once i relaunch nero my dvd drive s gone, and only the disc image is availible

it wont even work with dvd shrink now (since dvd shrink burns through nero)
I have also tried nero 9 but it kept saying nero burn rights wasnt even installed, even when i selected it as one of the extra things to install with nero,
i shouldnt even need burn rights because i have admin rights..

nuh its in my computer and device manager,
it can read fine.. its a software problem, not hardware, im sure...
il try booting off an external hdd that has nero later and see if i can burn off that?

alright, now nero shows my recorder if i have a non blank dvd in it, and i can transcode and shit, but then when it tells me to insert a disk it is saying the drive is empty,
also on dvd shrink if i load a disk image from my computer, it asks where i want to burn it, and shows my driver, if i select it it does the transcoding etc then says the disk drive is empty, just like nero

Hi Razor, I have come across this same problem on a computer that was used for video editing. Although it was not using Nero, the symptoms were the same. I tried just about everything to fix it as I also thought it was a software issue. I tried another DVD burner and it all worked fine after that.
Just because it says it working correctly in device manager, it could still be faulty... a false positive if you like.
Something else you could also try is checking that the cables are seated properly. SATA drives are the worst for the DATA cable popping out of its socket. If yours is not a SATA then just pull the ribon cable out and reseat it and also make sure the power cable is seated properly.
I hope this helps
Cheers Rossbx
i suggested the drive to lol maybe he will listen to you

i had the same problem not long ago, its actually a registry key error. Try using combofix A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix. Worked a treat for me![]()
