Just thought I would let everyone know. Tomtom for Iphone is now released. Just noticed it, in the app store. see TomTom for iPhone or TomTom navigation for iPhone 3G and 3GS arrives (update: Video!) for a review. Looking forward to getting this on my one. Anyone got this yet?
how much does it cost probably a little bit ey and what about the cost of using it?

It's $99.99 in the iTunes store..?
Yeah $99 in the app store, no ongoing charges, as the app uses the inbuilt gps, so just like your current gps. There is also a cradle coming out to suction it onto the window, and provide line out and mic for handsfree, or the text to speech audio. Quite a good price, when comparing to gps units
Lol who knows then..
BigW or somewhere has specials on iTunes cards atm.. 30% off..
Well just tried it out. Works great. Text to voice works well quite fast when calculating route. Easy to use, with the iPhone screen it's easier to use than a normal tomtom. Definately better than the navman s35 I've been using
only downside is see with it is it doesnt look to have itinerary routing.
It does seem to have advanced route calculation, where you can change start stop locations, this might be it.
I have Both Tom tom and navigon And there pritty much the same lol , but i spose way better then the built in app lol
I wouldnt get rid of my 730 for this app. Being able to plan a 30-40 trip route is perfect for my job.
iphone store says 100$. im not gonna bother but a friend has it and its insanely good.. im getting a 7" dvd/gps double din head unit soon so ill use that instead
Just road tested it today on a familiar route. Performed well. Uses IQ Routes which helps. But there's no traffic capabilities yet which lets it down.
Also, it doesn't remember recent points, but you can still add to favourites. Speed was 100% accurate. Exactly what my speedo was showing which has been tested with many GPS's and a few radar units (which show my speedo is spot on). Din't get a chance to test the overspeed feature. I dont think the app has it though.
I sell Navman, Garmin and TomTom (the three leading brands). From my tests and customers feedback TomTom come out on top, followed by Garmin. Then Navman a fair way down, they have many problems still! So it's great to see TomTom have developed this application, now it just needs a bit more work. Also not sure if the app uses the accelerometer to verify the speed (and more particularly when driving through tunnels). The GO930 has one in it for guidance in tunnels, so interesting to see if the app will do it too.
