Hey guys,
All of a sudden my ps3 is not hooking to the net when i switch it on. My lappy has a connection so i'm assuming something is wrong at the ps3 end. Everything is where it's supposed to be and the ps3 is working fine otherwise.
Any ideas on what i can try next?
It just won't sign in. I do a search for a connection and it comes up failed
I know sometimes it's just a PS3 Network problem one time i could not sign in for a month. But i was getting a time out. Try plugging the cable that you use for the ps3 into your laptop and see you get connection (remember to turn Wifi off if you are using it). If does not work it's the cable or the cable is not pushed in.
are you getting an error code when it says u cant sign in?
the sony network is up n running...ive been playin since 12pm so its on ur side....disconnect the modem wait 5 mins then start agen
Switch your wireless router off and on again. When mine does the same thing it works for me.
Hmmmm, it seems to be ok now. Not sure what happened there.
Another problem i'm having is that i regulary disconnect whilst playing with the message that my router is too strict. Does anyone else have this problem as well? How do i get around it, if at all?
Thanks guys.
You need to forward some ports..
What kind of router are you using?
Nah, they're seperate. What do you need to know about it and i'll look.
It's a iconnect thingy. It has 4 ports, if that helps. Sorry i don't know alot about these things![]()
Yeah I just assumed he had an all in one..
Just the brand and model.
Now to be honest I haven't done much port forwarding, so i'll let someone else describe it. Unplug the router and plug the cable that used to plug in to the router into the computer.
Then login into the modem (depending what the address is, try: 192.168.1.1 , 192.168.0.1 , 10.1.1.1 or it could be something else) You'll probably know it anyway. And then you'll need to find Port Forwarding or sometime the call it Virtual Server.
And from here on i can't remember what to do.so... click here
I'm having issues with mine actually, it keeps delling me I have a DNS error?
This site should be able to help you out.

Teh site was no help last time I tryed, Its hooked up ny wireless so its got no cable, any ideas?
Ok, after a bit of research i found that this problem is quite common so there is a fair bit of info available on the subject. In the end i got into my router settings and enabled the DMZ setting (which has something to do with nat) with my ps3 ip address and i played for 2 hours last night without any problems or frustrating disconnections. I'll try it again tonight to see if i was just having a lucky night but i'm hopeful that i've fixed the problem.
