Cisco products are good, linksys is their commercial arm.
Netgear arn't bad... asus make some ok products too. I'd stik with linksys if you can...
AVOID ANY D-LINK PRODUCTS LIKE THE FREAKING PLAGUE.
aZk.
Billion would be one of the best/ most popular. All comes down to what you need: ADSL2+, 3G, VOIP, VPN?

kool thanks aZk.
i should have explained that i only really need ADSL +2 really.
i use a cheap nasty d-link one (i think it was about $80 a couple of years ago) to route my dial-up internet from the desktop XP machine to my Macbook (no dial-up ability with the Macbook unless you buy the $100 modem).
Apart from be a recipe for slow it goes well. Dunno how the cheapies hold up to faster, more frequent use but i can't complain about the product. Easy to set up as well, even with the windows to mac setup. File share easy too.
Now, have a quiet chuckle about my ancient connection (tvr - shut up).
dont buy anything thats under 120$ 120-250 is the way to go the cheaper ones seem to drop out every now and then need resetting which isnt hard but can be annoying.

I've used Netgear 3 times in 3 different houses and havent had a problem yet

Billion is the way too go. I've tried most of the mainstream ones and nothing comes close to billion.
Seems like a majority vote for both netgear & billion.
What models should i look at buying in terms of netgear & billion?
Ive still got xp on this pc (desktop) but the laptop has windows vista.
Thanks in advance![]()
ive got dlink gear, never had an issue, just problems with the isp...
the isp that counts not the gear..
Mines a Belkin and never had one issue and was a piece of piss to setup!
