    Default Firefox

How many are using Firefox and how many have just upgraded to 3.5?

How many find it annoying that it will randomly send a tab to a new window when switching between tabs?

Can this be stopped? Or do I just go back to the previous version?....It's a pain in the bum....

    Tools > Options > Tabs.

Can be changed in here. Tick the first option.

Or do you mean when you have 2 tabs open, and one will suddenly open into a brand new window?

If that's the case, you can just drag the tab back to your first window.

Yep, that's what it is doing, but it's a pain in the bum having to do that, why can't it just stay where it bloody well put.

Firefox may have its failings, but i would far prefer that to microsofts IE.

Just DL Google Chrome, seems OK. No option for not keeping history though. You can manually clear it, but Firefox can clear it on shutdown, which is handy on a work comp....

I use firefox and find it great. The problem with the tabs is when you click on it, make sure you don't drag them into the browsing window. If you do that it opens up a new window. Just click on it without dragging it anywhere and all is fine.

I think I'll persevere with Firefox....don't really like the feel of Chrome.

But it will do it when I'm scrolling through a page too. Just randomly open a new window with the page I'm looking at.

Here we go. This should disable that feature. It's called Tab Tearing.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12276

    EDIT: Seams to work.

Firefox 3.5 has a new feature called tab tearing that makes it possible to detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window.
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

While we're at it, does anyone know how to make FF automatically log you in?

It will save my details, but I have to physically log in each time.

There are some setting under privacy, that fix this issue temporarily, but they always revert back to the original settings, where it logs you out every time you close the browser.

    Yeah sure have.

Not really that much of a problem, but would be good to not have to login everytime.

On my Mac using safari, once I login to any website, it'll always automatically log me in to that site.

I never have to log in, only when I clear cookies. Maybe you have yours set to clear cookies every time you close the browser.

Just checked a few things, and yeah it looks like I have a corrupt cookie file, which is causing it, it's deleting cookies whenever I close the browser. (Even when having that option is unticked)

File is called cookies.sqlite. Seams likes a common issue, so deleting the file should fix it!
