What do you guys think, is it worth $400??
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6750
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
Graphics Card: MSI NX8800GT 512MB
RAM: Kingston 2GB DDR2 667MHz
Wifi: D-Link DWL-G510 PCI (b/g)
Optical: LG 18X DVD +/- W/RW Drive
HDD: Seagate 300GB SATA Drive
PSU: Antec Earthwatt 500W (80%+ efficient)
Case: Antec Sonata II
Need some help, wondering if this is worth 400 and if it will run any of the good latest games
i guess it's ok. i tried doing a customer quote on centrecom, but can't beat $400. it should probably run most new games on 800x600 lowest settings. did you have any specific game in mind?
is this graphics better than the last one i posted and u commented on? got the two to choose from in the next day or so and really want something under the 400 mark. Is the hd4350 better than this card??
any opinions on what it wont run? or if you can still upgrade? im hopeless with computers lol
won't run crysis. my computer runs need for speed shift, and i have a p4 3.2GHz (single core), 2gb DDR ram, and a 7600gt. i don't play many pc games though. not sure how demanding shift is.
8800gt = 9800gt = gts250. it's better than the hd4350. you can upgrade anything you want, just remember that the E6750 is a socket 775 which is getting pretty old now, and ddr3 is becoming much more popular.
If you don't mind answering, where is this for sale?
If it's ebay or an auction, never mind answering, don't wanna risk it going up :P

lol was ebay but finished and no buyers so i offered 400 and he said okif i dont like it i know who to go to lol, i dont mind losing a few 10s for me learning about computers lol
thanks for all the help as well guys
P35 is a decent motherboard, 8800 is a decent graphics card, CPU is fair, and C2D's overclock pretty well, so you could run that thing at about 3Ghz without too many dramas I'd think. The biggest let down would be 2Gb of RAM, and given the price of DDR2 these days you'd be crazy not to throw a couple extra GB in there for $70 or whatever.
For the price you'd be really hard pressed to beat it, it's not top of the line, but short of spending $3k+ you're doing pretty well there.

Not true, I'm running 667Mhz DDR2 right now (and not overclocked or anything).
DDR3 is commonly 1066Mhz (and can be faster), but I seriously question the value of DDR3 given the price of it, given how rarely memory speeds are the bottleneck in a desktop system. You're much better off getting a better hard drive and more volume of RAM rather than faster RAM.

If you in Sydney the best prices for computer parts is MSY in Auburn. They are easily the best priced but have no customer service skills whatsoever. Do some research on what you want to buy and when you know the part name etc go to MSY and get it on the cheap.
$400 is a good deal, graphics card is good, PSU good, I would agree with Danja and throw a couple of ddr2 800mhz ram cards in it and overclock the cpu.
