just bored of shitty racing games on pc so want to know if anyone is actually running gt4 on pc and if so any links and how to info? Thanks guys
i looked into running ps2 games on computer ages ago. you'll be surprised how good the ps2 really is when you try to play them. they run at around about 10fps on a reaaaally good machine
why not try and download a PS2 emulator and get the GT4 rom
My car audio:
CD tuner: Alpine CDA-9884E with Ipod interface
Front speakers: Alpine Type R SPR-17S 6.5 component speakers, powered by a avant-garde 23dxi 2 channel amplifier - 2x51 watt RMS
Rear speakers: pioneer coaxials connected to tuner
Subwoofer: Alpine Type R SWR-1222D 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 500 watts RMS powered by a response precision 2x150 watts RMS 2 channel amp bridged to 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms
im playing it atm on pc. u need a pretty decent comp to play it though. its a pretty demanding game.
any mac versions?![]()
I have tried some of the emulators around and nothing for me worked![]()

ive tried as well, very hard thats why i wanted someone who has to explain what they got and where
GTA4 on the pc shits all over the ps3 if you have a good gaming computer. The only unfortunate thing is that the PC version was converted badly for PC so it uses a lot of graphics card memory and also is a cpu hog.
If you have a decent dual core or quad core preferrably and at least a series 9 nvidia card you will see much better graphics and performance on the pc than on the ps3.
I would just buy on PC, emulators don't tend to give you the best performance.
Ooooh yeah. In that case I have no idea sorry. Have you tried Need for Speed shift..its supposed to be pretty good I hear?
Oh and if you do figure out a way to do it I'd love to be able to play Forza 3 on the Pc...its the only reason I would buy an xbox360
gta4 was converted badly to everything :P it's just a heavy cpu using game but it does run very well on a ps3. You need to be killing about 50,000 cops to get it to slow up alot. You have to remember the ps3 has 8 cores and cost less than a graphics card alone for a pc
I think my dumb arse response has hijacked this thread but anyway, The PS3 does great for low resolution gaming on big screens which is what it is designed for ultimately. The PC will blow a PS3 out of the water on any game however with the right set-up. I can build a PC for the same price as a PS3 that will have better graphics, better frame rates for GTA4. Oh and by the way the ps3 actually only utilises 7 cores as the last does not process information it is actually a failsafe if the other 7 fail.
....and pleased to meet ya greenfoam I have read a lot of your posts and you seem very knowledgable![]()
