kay from what ive read so far..
but is it only the 60gb ps3 console that plays ps1/2 games.. ive also heard the 80gb one does too, but im not sure... 60gb seems to be the one so far..
i know the new version of the 120gb allow ps1 only..
anybody have knowledge or own one?
im a metal gear solid fan and would like to be able to have 1-4 on the same systemeven though ps2's are getting cheap..
as far as i know, all ps3s play ps1 games, and it was the 40gb? version/ the ones with 4 USB ports at the front, which could also play ps2 games
Its only the original first release with the 4 ports that does it, then the PS2 hardware was removed to save on costs
Yeah i got the 60g ps3 the first model ps3. It plays most of the ps2 games and seems to work with all the ps1 ones iv tryed. But there are a lot of ps2 games that arnt even worth playing cause they barley work at all
Early consoles featured the PS2 CPU, then it was dropped and replaced with software support by 'emulating' PS2 games, then it was dropped all together. Not sure exactly when it all happened but I know that the new slimline consoles offer no support at all.
yep, the launch PS3 had the "Emotion Engine" chipset in it.. since removed and well, there is now 1 less reason to own a PS3.
And the fact that they have the standard Sony fault of burning out lasers..
Yeah, I have the original, and its the only one to play PS2/PS1 games. No others do.
My 80gig ps3 Did Untill i Sent It Back For Repairs An They Upgraded The Soft Ware now It Only Plays ps3 games
