    Default Nokia N97

    Hey Guys,

Well since I've had enough of my iPhone stuffing up on me, I've decided I want to go to a Nokia N97. To me they have everything the iPhone has plus much more. Yes I'm fully aware of the main menu screw up etc. So What I would like now is opinions from people on here that already have them. What are the Pros and Cons you have found with your Nokia N97?

    Cheers

i've had mine for a couple weeks now..still getting used to the keypad to type msg's. Also cant figure out if i can turn off auto spelling so it doesnt guess words it's kinda annoying, and the speakers are not all that loud when playing back music but when its ringing/alarm tone they are good for some reason. otherwise its a great phone and the battery life is pretty good on them.

I had a test of one of them the other day and the Video / Audio playback was really good. Maybe some settings need to be adjusted. Not sure about the auto spelling didn't go that far into it, but far sure it can be turned off. I'm used to using the iPhones touch screen to type messages and found it even more easier when typing on the N97. Your Feedback is much appreciated Thanks.

Could be the bitrate of the songs causing it to not be very loud/crisp.

I have one and overall they are a good phone. Only issue I have with mine is it freezes once every couple of days and won't turn off until you take the battery out. Battery life could be better but it will still last a day if you use it constantly.

The N97 cam out a few months ago, must be thinkin of an N95.

Anyway back to the point. DO NOT GET AN N97, there are too many problems with them, they are not worth the hassle. I have had my replaced once and repaired 3 other times. I work at a phone store and we get allot of them back, i had a talk with the nokia rep the other day and evan he admits they rushed them out to early. i could mybe suggest the N97 mini, which is suppose to be allot better but that is only heresay. As the above suggested maybe a Hero or Magic, depends what it is used for, but if you like the features of the iphone you probably wont like the magic, it cant evan sync with google docs or view them which is preety annoying considering they are both google ( i havent seen an app of android market either)

if it were me and wanted something like the iphone but better i would go either the HTC HD2 (1ghz processer (Snapdragon), huge screen) or my personal choice the Samsung HD ICON (or 8910 Omnia whatever you want to call it,) nice fluid interface, big screen, 16Gb, 8.1 Megapixel Camera and my personal favorite 720P Video recording.

hope ive given you somthing to think about.

i've heard bad things, i wanted to upgrade to this from my N95 8gb, but from what i've heard, there's a reason that before releasing it, they never showed what processor they had.

Right now the quickest phone new phone i've used is the iphone 3g S, but, then i'd have to own an iphone lol.

By looking at most of the new phones on the market, i sorta miss my old nokia 3200, that thing still works, never had a problem ever, and is a lot faster than my n95 will ever be lol.

had a htc touch pro, slow as hell, rommed it and it still fairly slow. but that 1ghz sounds good.

got an iphone 3gs and havent had a problem, until i jailbreaked it and 3rd party softwares screw it around a bit, but i spose thats wat u get if its not made by apple. but i try my best to work around little issues but never frozen. although wish the battery was better.

know 2 ppl that have a n97 and it always freezes and shit apparently
