Hey all, very irritating problem. Firefox will crash, but only on certain sites. eBay is the main culprit, but only when opening another listing in a new tab. But it doesnt happen all the time and its fine to look at listings in the one tab. The other sites seem to be forums with anything relating to computers funnily enough. Example: I have a problem, or would like look up something computer related, I google it, I click on one of the results, after a few secs into loading the page *BAM* firefox crashes. It doesnt do it with any other type of sites.
Its a really frustrating and bizarre problem. I thought it could be my ram, but have lately upgraded to 4 brand new 512mb sticks and the problem is still there. I keep up to date with the latest firefox releases. My mum seems to have the same problem on her PC too.
Anyone else?
Havn't had the same problems.....
What release are you running now? I think I need to update, but might wait if its the one you have haha

I'm probably doing something wrong, meh
It did it for me for a while too. The problem went away when the newest update came out. I assumed it was an issue with one of the many add-ons I use

i was getting this problem last week, every time i went to a forum, it would crash kept on doin it for days, seems ok now though
As someone else said, i would try and disable a couple of add-ons. see if it works. if not disable a couple more, etc. till you narrow down the culprit. Its rarely firefox itself that causes the problems, but some addon or plugin thats being screwy.
Me personally, i've known the avg plugin to cause issues once or twice.
Also I do adore the net usage item plugin. Its such a god send for keeping track of bandwidth usage.
AVG (and other virus scanners) scan web pages on the fly when you're surfing. Especially in a google search -- note the AVG button(s) on each search item. Anyhow, try disabling AVG from its own control panel (in the systray), see if that helps.... if so, reinstall/update/turf out AVG.
HTH......

(I might know s**t all about cars, but PC's are my thing)
Well with AVG safe search disabled for a few days now I havnt had any dramas, none that I can recall anyway which is a good thing.
Cheers for the replies
