You need to open up your internet browser.
In the address bar you need to type 192.168.1.254 and press enter.
This will take you to the login page for your modem. It might ask for a username and password.
this is usually just admin for username and password is just admin as well.
Once you get into the main page of your router, click on "Interface Setup" under there click on the heading "Wireless".

    Access Point = Activated.
    Channel ID = Australia
Channel = Usually Channel 6. 1, 6, 11 are the most common used.
SSID = (Enter the name that you want to call your wireless network).
    Authentication Type = WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK
Pre-Shared key = Enter a password for your network. Use letters and numbers and make it something hard.

Leave all the rest of the settings as their default values.

    Save Settings.

You now should have a secured wireless network.

Thanks holdensupporter. I just did that and then put the code into my 2 lappys. Both are now on the net wirelessly. I couldnt work out the authentication type, that is why i couldnt put a password in before.
Should i do anythng else to secure it? ie the encryption.

    Cheers Shane
