windows 7 will my hardware handle it

i got a worm and rootkit and i have to reinstall windows and i'm thinking of stepping up from XP to windows 7 while i'm at it. after hearing about how much resources vista chewed i'm not 100% on it.

here's the specs of my hardware
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67 GHz
OCZ Reaper HPC PC2-9200 DDR2 1150MHz RAM
Asus p5k mobo

i'm also not 100% on windows 7, i know xp back to front, and honestly i can hold out until i upgrade my hardware

Should run fine on that setup.
How much memory do you have?
What size hard drive?

I am running Windows 7 on my netbook Acer Aspire A150 Netbook which run fine.
Bit on the slow side cos I only have 1GB or ram in it, but nothing a memory upgrade shouldn't fix.

Windows 7 seems to be a lot faster than windows vista was.

Windows 7 does not have an email program built into it like "Windows Mail" (Outlook Express in XP).
If you are going to purchase windows 7 get the 64 Bit version unless you have older programs that won't run on 64 bit.

32 Bit version can only utilise 3.25GB of Memory whereas 64Bit operating systems are capable of utilising up to 128GB of memory.
