Hi
I have a little problem that has been annoying the hell out of me for some time.
when I receive an sms on my mobile phone and scroll down to the "time received", the time is always wrong?
The time on my mobile phone is correct, and I am pretty sure the time on the senders phone would be ok, so why does it always come in with the wrong time stamp, it is annoying as I can't really pinpoint the hour I received a missed message.

I have only had that problem when I get SMS's when I'm interstate. It seems to have the time stamp from the senders time zone. But, I haven't check in while though. I'll let you know when I get one.

Not sure if its the same problem, but "time received" on my Nokia 6300 is really the time it was sent. I dont know why they diddnt just name it "time sent" like it was on my previous Nokia...
Maybe its referring to the time it was received by your networks message bank? If that makes sense. Im not entirely sure how it all works.
Come to think of it, my old Nokia 6230 had 'time sent' and 'time received', where as my Nokia 6300 only has 'time received' which is actually 'time sent'.
I dont like change.
I get that problem ALL THE TIME its annoying as hell. Im in SA with Telstra, the time on my phone is correct, and the only texts i get are from my mates who also live in SA. The timestamp always tells me i received the sms like 30-60 minutes in the future..
It is normally a time zone setting or daylight savings time is incorrectly set on your phone or the senders phone.
This happened to me with my TP2 as the time zone was set to Sydney and when DST changed for Tassie my calendar and sms's were up the creek.
Atleast yours acknowledges the time stamp within the messages. My blackberry will send with time stamps to other phones, but when I recieve messages it is not time stamped, it will just say the time i ACTUALLY RECIEVED it... So if the message was sent to me at 9am an I'm out of range till 10am, it'll say I got the message at 10am, not 9am.. Yes, yes, yes.. Ofcourse I will recieve it at 10 when I go back into range, but I will have like 5 diff messages all saying they are recieved at 10am not at 9, 9:10, 9:30, etc etc......
So atleast you don't got that problem, only way to fix that is new phone.
hmm thanks for the input, doesn't seem to be any great fix for this.
I just checked and it does record the time it sends a message, so it must have somthing to do with a server or something.
I mean many of my messages come in about 3 - 5 hours off time?
Surely they do not route through Perth or some distant station, very starnge.

Texting my friend now, she is in parramatta and im in the blue mountains and the time stamp is fine...
Yeah, I had the same thought in regards to the reputable name, but i suppose it isnt the newest of new blackberry's, but my old Nokia 3315 (the old skewl brick) used to work like a charm... Oh the good 'ol days where you used to be able to play hacky-sack with your fone, an know its still going to work (even after you accidently kick it full pelt into a brick wall *damage done-few small scratches, still got it today lol*)
As for the email software? Not sure, but they do use their own emailing softwarez... Not to bad IMHO.
Also, a thought to the time change thingy-ma-bobby considering thats what this thread started on, are you in daylight saving where you are? I know my other fones used to do the same untill daylight savings was ended. lol
anyway, just a thought.
