I had put my pre-order in like months ago, just won't be picking it up till weekend lol.
Just wondering if anyone got the collectors edition? or if anyone is getting the strategy guide? theres a collectors edition and a standard edition of the guide to.
Edit: Think I might save me $30 and get the standard version of the game - the soundtrack, cards etc don't interest me, not like I'll look at them again after the first. Although I'll spend the extra $10 to get the limited edition Strategy Guide.

haven't been interested in final fantasy since ff8
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
Final Fantasy 8 is definately my favourite, I hadn't played 12 though. I currently playing FF10. I don't like the fact that it's not really a RPG, you can't just wonder around killing stuff. You kind of follow the path and thats it. FF9 was alright, kinda got boring.
But what I liked about the older ones is that it was turn based, this new one you pause, select wat you want and then unpause. Makes it harder & seems a slower process. You also have to position yourself. Alot of FF10 was magic based, everything would attack you by using magic! and stupid flying enemies, I hated Wakka, always had Luna, Tidus, Lulu? out but only Lulu could actually attack flying type creatures! I hated rotating chars around.

yeah ff8 was the first one i played and i loved it til i got to the final boss and could kill it ( was only lv 40 ish) then got 7 and wow i dont think i slept til i finished it, brought 9 didnt like it got 10 didnt like it tried 11 (online) didnt like it tried 12 and it wasnt bad but no where near as fun as 7 or 8 though 10 did have a great story line not that i ever finished it![]()

well FF XIII is just like FF X in the way you move because in 10 you basicly followed a path and in this you do to and you purchase items from the save points and there arent any 'towns' you pass though towns but you can buy anything.
i havent got the game but that what i saw in a review
FF9 was good never got into 8 or 7, Not sure weather to buy the new one for ps3 because i dont know if i can follow it or i have the patience for these games anymore lol. But it was awesome back in the day. looking forward to someone reporting back and teling me if its any good. cheers
You should of played 8 because it's better than 9. I didn't get into 7... just because of the graphics lol.. couldn't stand the block characters. I liked 8 & 9 because you could walk/fly randomly across the continent and kill things, lvl up and gather items for upgrades. In 10, you just followed the straight line path, good graphics and ye it was pretty good.
I've got 10-2 but haven't played it yet. and I've brought 12 aswell but haven't played it yet.
Hopefully on thursday I'll be able to pick up my copy of FF13 and I'll give ya feedback.
Apparently it didn't sell as well as they thought it would in Japan but I dno.
You can pre-order FF14 already! no release date yet tho.

That's a shame. Why do they do that? Whats the reason behind it?
It only makes the game shorter because you don't have to go forwards and backwards XD but it leaves the leveling up off a RPG out of it. You can only kill the creatures in that particular area and then you advance to the next area.
I like roaming the continent and getting into random encounters. Sometimes that would be annoying, but in FF8 you had diable's ability to stop encounters if need be. Which was pretty cool.

it was fun, the game play graphic where good for the time (back in the day when a game was judged on its game-play/playability not on fancy graphics it also like ff8 it had some very nice cut scenes and exploring the land was really rewarding( until you run into one of those ultimate weapon boss's)

ahhh dude this is all I hear about at home.... and now just commodores! can somebody give me a break ha ha
my little brother is obsest with these games, and he has been persistently telling me about these games and going into great depth about them (even though I don't really want to know...)
He just got one in a white book/case looking thing...
Its not my kind of game, but it must be good if so many people like it, it sure keeps him happy haha apparently it too four years to make, It must have some depth ay
i know that Final Fantasy 14 is a online rpg like 11
i have heard alot of rumours that ff 7 may be getting remade but its all rumours and the fact that they made a mobile phone game, psp game, a few anime episodes and a full cg movie and then they remade it recently for blue-ray in HD and extra footage and some scenes remade and its a amazing movie if you have seen it, if you havent its still good but you wont understand as much

Just got FF13 yesterday!! Haven't played it yet because I got home at 11 lol.
I ended up getting the Collectors Edition, kinda by mistake, he just gave me the collectors and I paid it, just thought that EB was charging more than JB Hi but nothing I could do cause of deposit earlier. I ended up realising it was Collectors Edition after and that's why I paid the extra amount lol.
Either way, it's done now and I kinda am glad to have the collectors edition. Atleast it goes with my Collectors Edition strategy guide hehe. Cant wait to play it now!! Stop work! shoulda taken a sicki lol.

the Spirits Within movie didnt have anything to do with the Final fanstasy game series, it just happened to have the FF name
Well I've been playing it for a couple of hours now.
The cutscene graphics are incredible and the gameplay graphics are pretty good aswell. The story, eh not so interesting yet.
It's all been straight forward pretty much. Follow the set out path (no roaming). I've just beaten Shiva.
The combat is pretty sweet, I thought it would of been crap but it's actually decent! I like the auto-attack function, saves you selecting the same moves over and over, the auto-attack analyses your situation and uses the best attacks in that particular situation, for instance if there are 2 or 3 near each other Lightning will use Blitz (a radius attack) to damage all. Throughout the fight you can switch your roles - more attack, more defence, more heals. You only control the Leader of the group, the other 2 characters do their own thing (apart from the role changes, that is for all chars).
It's not random battles, you see the enemys on your screen and map, which I don't like. You can enter and exit the current area and the enemys respawn but apparently it's not really worth it because as you get into higher level'd area, the game makes you fight enough beforehand to be able to defeat these new foes. So you don't have to do endless training/farming to get a high level.
Once again, you don't have "levels", you just gain CP and you use them for whichever role you want your char to be. So there's not a level 100 cap or something. You don't actually know what level you are on.

I'm not actually a gamer, but some of you may appreciate this. A mate of mine is a complete FF Junkie, has all the games and the movie. His 21st is coming up... I've found a replica of Cloud's buster sword out of Advent Children - The 4 piece one.
